I’ve had 4 of these done under ultrasound it only took 30-40 mins each one . Good luck
Thank u hun did they numb it first hun ?? X
Yes but I won’t lie it did hurt but only like a pressure pushing down feeling . My wrist was really bad I had to get private health to do it as couldn’t wait any longer as the pain was unbearable but definitely did the trick . Although much better now it’s never gonna be the same .... hope it works for you
I’ve had these in and out in about 30 mins! They work really well too or at least they did. For me. Good luck!
Did u go on a day case ward ?? As my letter says I am x🤦🏻♀️🤔x
Hi Dee, no I had a normal appointment...it was a guided ultra sound appointment. The first time I had it done it did hurt but the second time it was absolutely fine. I had to wait for about ten minutes after having it done to check I was ok but then I went home but I was driven to and from the hospital. I rested my hand for the first 24 hours also. They really helped me and took all the swelling right down, the first one lasted about 14 months and the second one not so long but I do have severe damage that needs operating on. Your health authority may do things differently but I was definitely not on a day case ward and I did not need to be admitted or discharged. Good luck...hope it works for you and you will be fine 😊
You'll have been asked to attend the Day Case Ward so you can rest after the injection/s & so they can check on your hand a little while after & before they discharge you. As has been said it'll probably be a guided one. You shouldn't be there too long.
I hope it helps ease the pain.
Day case just means you aren't being admitted.
I recently had one in my finger after my Rheumatologist saw the Ultrasound results. He numbed the area with numbing spray ( very cold) first. It was fine and be positive that you know it’s what you really need. I found it made my finger worse for next 3 days ( I think it’s the body’s response to “ something happening “ ) then it very gradually got better, day by day. It was not until 2 weeks that I would say I really knew it was working. My Rheumatologist said it should show it’s maximum benefit by week 6! I have a follow up appointment at 8 week point to ensure it’s going in the right way. Best of luck.
