Slightly disgusting question but has anyone any ideas on what to use on problematic toenails? As in when they fall off and are sore underneath. Thanks in advance. Apparently it is quite common with psoriatic arthritis.

Toe problems
Were your toenails infected before they fell off? If so I would go and talk to your doctor as these sorts of nail infections can be a bugger.
Horrible isn't it. I have PsA and four toenails fell of. It was actually more agonising before the actually fell off. Wearing shoes was hell! Once they fell off it wasn't so bad. I found soaking feet in warm sea salt helpful, and just walking around house barefoot to air them.
Important to keep nails quite short.
Important that feet are healthy I see a podiatrist every 2 to 3 months, and my nails are cut and any ongoing problems are sorted out.
I have RD, and cannot cut my toenails myself.
I am lucky, but I realise that in some areas there is little or no service......a false economy, because foot problems are rampant with inflammatory arthritis of any kind and expert care is essential.
Can you ask your rheumatologist or GP for a referral. They are the people to treat those problems, they treated my toe when I got an abscess on the bottom of my toe.
I would be absolutely immobile without proper footcare
I went private to podiatrist the other day, it wasn't as expensive as I thought. Ingrown toe nail sorted and dressed and she filed and trimmed the others down too... £14. I'll go back again in a few months. M x
