I have just ran out to the kitchen and back to bed when I caught my toes on the bottom of the bed that had some metal sticking out! My toe got caught between the metal and pushed my toes apart! My 3/4 toes are now swollen and very painful and the pain is now moving up my foot! I don't think it's broken but the bottom of my toes are, hot and painful! Do you know that feeling when it hurts so much that you feel sick??
So tomorrow going to sort the bed out as do not want it happening again!
Thanks for letting me moan, hope everyone takes care during these difficult times. X

I did the same thing a while ago. I walked into a metal ladder lying on the ground. I think I actually broke my toe but there nothing they can do about it so it just has to heal. So painful and hard getting a shoe on. Ok in the summer when you can wear flip flops!
I hate to say it but it sounds very much to me as if you might have broken a toe
Unfortunately even if you have, as Downtime has mentioned, there isn't usually a lot the medical people will do about it other than possibly strap one toe to another to keep it straightened as it heals but I know from (several) experience(s) that it can be flipping painful in the meantime...
Just reading you post now, ouch ouch and ouch again. A few years ago I got the hem of my trousers caught in the threshold into my bedroom and tripped shunting my bare feet into a cupboard and the toes on my left foot took the full shunt/stub. So I know that feeling you describe and fractured two of my toes in the process. If they are still swollen and painful please get them checked out wont you. Take care xx
I have dislocated my toes so many times doing things like that! So if really painful in morning please get an xray done. I left it once for 5 days and I could hardly walk and dislocated 3 toes and kept saying just bruised!
Good excuse to take a painkiller, get the frozen peas out..wrap them in a towel...put them on your foot & sit on the bed reading for the rest of the day!Unless you fancy waiting for hours in A&E?
Even if you have broken your toe....the most likely treatment is just to tape it to the next one.....see how it is later on...it will hopefully calm down,
I now have a bruise under my toes. The toe that was next to my big toe had a while ago due to RA moved a lot, but now it's moved right over as it got pushed! The 2 toes that got the full impact, I cannot move them and when I try to agony! If you draw a v under my toes there is a nice bruise there. I can walk around so it can't be broken! right? I am limping and I had to go out this morning. I was ok for about 30 minutes walking, but once back in the car agony! So now have my foot up and tried to strap my toe next to the other one, but too painful will try later. I just have to put up with it, am not going to doctors or hospital! Thanks for listening. X
If you have broken or dislocated them hospitals tend to just strap the injured toes together so maybe do this and then BIG shoes or flip flops! Rest and more and more peas on them x
