I'm SO confused!

I'm new here and will probably loose my way around...but I really do need help. I happened upon an RA site and they were talking about skin tearing. I can understand what ALL the folks were saying about having to take Steroids for their Rheumatoid Arthritis, but I DON'T HAVE that, so I'm not taking steroids!!! My skin was just regular skin on Friday and Saturday I was playing with the dog and she tore the skin on my arm! Today I was cleaning when I realized my arm felt funny, I looked down and there were TWO tears right near where where the first tears were!!! WHAT THE HECK? Anyone care to guess?

Hi and welcome, you sound like your going through hell at the moment, we are all different when it comes to RA and there’s a heck of a lot lovely ladies and men, to chat to and pick up a lot of advice about and information, my problems with the my toes and my ankles plus my hands and I think I’m in a flare up which is really painful BUT we need to carry on doing what we do. I hope things get better soon xx.

Unfortunately, I haven't got a clue what it could be but you should really go and see your GP about this. It could be an auto immune symptom or it could be connected with whatever meds you are on. Hope you don't have to wait too long x

Due to the drugs your taking you now have fragile skin and it will tear easily i am afraid to say. My skin will look like it has bruised and i haven't hit it .xxxxx

As I understand it you don't have RA so your skin problem is not connected with that or RA meds? I would suggest definitely making an appt to see your GP and get the skin checked out. It doesn't sound right and maybe you are lacking something or have some other ailment going on. Skin thins as you get older too so if you are in later years it may just be that. I hope you get some answers soon, but definitely see your GP about it.
