I have just been to have my left foot x-rayed today, but it was an ultrasound instead and get the results in a week. Having so much pain in my feet, it feels like I have a stone in my shoe but there never is. Also the tops of my toes have lots of pain, even when just relaxing.

Thanks for listening. Carol x

That could be good, as will show up active inflammation better than an x-ray. Hope you get the results and some effective treatment straight after.

It sound like Mortons Nuromas its easily treatable and can be operated on. I've had the injections and 2 operations so don't worry it'll be fine. Like walking on glass, insoles didn't help me but they might you but give them a chance. You need to see a surgeon not a podatrist. An xray can't see the nuromas ask for a CT scan or ultrasound.

I have a pre assessment at my local hosp on Friday. I've had an ultra sound on my foot. The consultant put me on the injection list but I really want surgery. The bone is sticking up on top of my foot and my big toe has gone underneath the next one. I already had my other big toe broken and straightened with pins in some years ago. I worry as I get older the consultants won't want to operate. I'm no spring chicken as i'll be 60 this year. Good luck with your results and take care xxxx

Hi Carol I sympathise I also have this problem on my left foot, a lump on the ball of my foot behind my toes feels like I have a stone in my shoe but know I haven't, very painfull to walk on. Also get violent stabbing pains go through my toes & my big toe is very sensitive when touched on the outside. Have seen my Rheumy who has taken X rays of my hands & feet & said if anything showed up then he would send me a letter well 3 weeks have passed & I've heard nothing. I think I heard him say that it was nothing connected to the RA but I'm not sure if it persists will make an appointment to see my own Doctor. Watching your findings with interest.

Hi Carol, whiskers64 again. After reading your entry about painfull foot as replied to you previously I made an appointment at my Doctors explained the pain I was also having (as the same as you) he examined my left foot & has made an appointment at my local hospital for a Ultrasound to confirm whether it is Morton's Neuroma which he is 99% sure that is what it is. Treatment for this will follow as nec. So pleased I read your posting here.
