Rosacea break out

It seems the rash I have had on and off recently is my old enemy back with a vengeance.

Now red bumps and spots that bleed, all over my poor face.

So I searched online for an effective cure and found that organic apple cider vinegar with the mother seems to be effective in a dilution of half ACV to half water.

Has anyone tried this?

Try sulfur soap. It works great! I have prescriptions and Sulfur soap does a better job. I also have rose oil, seabuck oil, and tea tree pads. I can provide links if it's ok to put amazon links? I buy all through amazon.

Thanks, cheshcat!

I found info on sulfur soap.

I think I will try the ACV morning and night, wash it off with that soap.

Good start!

How about these: get rid of ACV and sulphur stink, moisturise later too.

I've never tried the moisturizer, looks interesting though! I'm not sure about the witch hazel listed in buying all 3. I use tea tree pads. I put very little on my face due to the Rosacea.

It has aloe vera and rose water too. Well, I can try it!

My pores don’t block with coconut oil so I might use that sometimes too; good anti fungal and anti bacterial properties.

Royal jelly in products for skin is usually very good. I have used it before.

Propolis also has good properties (would have to look it up to refresh my poor memory).

We had honeybees in WV, USA. But none since return to UK just over two years ago.

Anyway, I will experiment and see what works best on my skin. Never had such a bad break out of Rosacea before; none at all for many years.

Thanks for your help, so appreciated.

I can get terrible break outs! Especially when I was undiagnosed with RA. I do use coconut oil too. Usually just a few nights a week. I found I don’t need it every night. But I suppose that would be my moisturizer if I need it. I also have a sensitive skin daytime lotion with SPF 15 since we are so sensitive to the sun.

Good strategies!

This is very interesting post , i might try the sulphur soap. Is it helpful for other skin conditions?

in reply toweathervane

Hi weathervane

I only just heard of it from cheshcat.

I looked it up and found it is good for various skin conditions but it does stink like rotten egg, so you need rose oil or something that smells pleasant to apply afterwards.

Good to know stinky egg smell would certainly clear a room!

in reply toweathervane

LOL

You need 10% sulphur soap bar, if you want to try it.

I found organic rose oil (a carrier) too; this seems to be very good for skin after the sulphur soap.

Also what cheshcat uses.

Thanks Kai!

Any information is valuable. Might try other things if ACV and sulphur soap etc fail.

Last thing I need is long term antibiotics, which is all I ever got 24 years ago!

Hope you too enjoy the Christmas and New Year period.

Don't know if it will help anyone but I use Body shop Vitamin E products on my face. Since using them my Rosacea has cleared up. I was using the antibiotic lotion supplied by my Gp but for me it seemed to make it worse. So trial and error, lots of money later I've found something that works for me.

I haven't had the spots, redness, heat at all for over 8 months. Rie

Thanks for that tip, Rie!

I will remember and look for it.

I use the face wash, face wipes, eye cream day cream, I have the night cream. Don't use it all at once though, lol.

Hi charisma7aj,

would advise taking vit c. Helps in curing the cause for the outbreak. If not interested in supplement, any fruit, veggie with vit c in it.

in reply toPadram

Thanks Padram!

I eat quite a lot of citrus fruit but overdid the curries recently with a new Thai curry paste not tried before.

I bought it from Mortison’s; comes in a tub but is much stronger than any bought before.
