I woke up with a low grade fever today, it's 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and my cheeks are so flushed! I look like a "working woman" having a bad make up day!!!! I feel like they are glowing in the dark!
I was able to send my daughter trick or treating with my grown step-son and my grandkids, allowing me to rest and deal with the pain in my back! I hated missing out, but she loves her "brother" and nieces! I have not been married to his dad since 2005, and he is not blood related to my youngest daughter, but we are family of the heart! It's amazing, he is closer to me than his real mom and dad! Love beats out DNA I guess!
I think I will stay in today and watch some movies! Toodles for now!
P.S. This is my step-son with his girlfriend and kids!

Sorry you're not so well. Here's hoping your cheeks return to a respectable shade very soon! Illness hasnt affected your spirit at least. What a lovely photo, your step son sounds like a fine young man. I've been a step dad for 20 years though not been with the girls mom for 5 yrs. It's made no difference though and their kids call me grandad. As you've found, love trumps biology!
Wrap up, relax & take good care Mandy. Regularly check your temp & if it worsens seek medical help. It's a shame you missed Halloween but there's always next year.
Oh bless you Mandy! I do hope you get better soon. Don't you just love the way our health picks it's moments? I'm sure your daughter had a lovely time with her brother and nieces (I'm a step-mother to three adult kids and can't be bothered with "steps". Family is family) and there will be other Halloweens. Take care of yourself and enjoy your movies.
Thank you for the care and concern, I woke up with a low grade fever and flaming red cheeks again! Still trying to get through to my rheumy, but my back and legs are a little stronger today!
I feel so bad that my 9 year old will never remember me as the energetic super mom that my older kids knew!
" Mommy doesn't feel good." Or " I can't do this right now" is what she hears. 😭😢
