I've been having a sharp, shooting pain in the left side of my head for about 3 days now. It's not constant, it lasts for about 10 seconds and then goes again, returning like every 10 minutes.
Has anyone experienced this and is it part of having RA or is something else causing it?
Thanks.

Mine turned out to be migraines (wierd though as the shooting pains only lasted a few minutes) brought on by Methotrexate which I'd started 3 months previously. The Rheumatologist said straight away that's what it was and she'd seen it several timescale.
Please see your gp as you need to rule out anything else. I had a biopsy for temporal arteritis, which was negative, but it's good to get checked out.
I built up slowly to my usual Methotrexate dose, increasing by one tablet a month and that helped.
