Mtx and sore throat

Hi everyone

Just after a little advice... I'm due to have my mtx injection tomorrow but I've got a horrible sore throat. Would you take the injection anyway or skip a week?

I've been told I can take it but you may want to seek the advice of your Rhuematology department

We aren't doctors and don't know your medical history which could be relevant, so always best to check with your own medical team.

However my experience, like Matilda's, is that I've always been told to keep taking it unless I am prescribed a very specific antibiotic which is contraindicated with MTX.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I'm going to see how I feel in the morning and if I'm the same I will miss it out. We have a rheumy nurse hotline where I am but it is a 48hr response time

Leave a message on nurse advice line , you could wait to see what they say and take a day later rather than just miss a week ..get well soon
