Hi yes I did when I first started it. I rang the nurse specialist & instead of 1 folic acid a week she prescribed 6, one every day except metho day which sorted the throat problem out. Said that the cells in the throat react. Also, I learnt to always take the metho at night & take a big glass of water to bed as found it made me thirsty. Hope this helps xx

Thank you! Glad to hear the daily folic acid helped. I have been on 2 folic acid daily (due to mouth sores) and take it at night. My mtx was just upped 2.5 mg, back up to 12.5. I have lost about 15 lbs since the 2nd week on June.

I was diagnosed in 2009 and I have often had swollen glands regularly since before my diagnosis.

I’ve been on methotrexate since 2010.

I’ve had xrays but nothing shows up! I believe it’s just a side affect of my RA.

Swollen glands are a symptom. Of RA

Yes, I've had red, sore throats on several DMARDS, including methotrexate. It came and went for no obvious reason, but never got too bad, more an annoyance.

I get swollen glands too! And sore throats! And really hoarse sometimes. I’ve had it since diagnosis. So glad to hear it’s not just me. I can’t decide if it’s methotrexate or the RA though. But interesting to read everyone else’s experiences. I too have started taking my mtx in the evening which also helps with the tiredness (though was very fatigued yesterday.) I also take folic acid 6 days a week but that hasn’t helped the throat. Hope you find something that helps.

Thank you I didn’t know that

I do agree, it helps to hear what everyone else experiences. With covid-19 lurking, I am overly cautious.

Sure do the day after my injection. I mentioned it to my rheumy and he says it's the mtx working.

Dang, then if that is the case, it was in overdrive.

Hi. Exactly the same as Juliachoo. Very occasionally I get the odd sore throat but not bad and only lasts a few hours.

Thanks for the reply--it's hard to figure out what is causing what!
