well after a horrendous weekend, phoned the rheumy line today or should I say yesterday when all my troubles seemed so far away!
Anyway nice nurse called me back, and after general discussion re my problems!!! she has decided to email my consultant who is currently on leave, and to continue with my current meds.
Though she queried why I would take 30mg of steroids reducing by 5 mg per day, that conversation started to confuse me.
OH YOUR TAKING 30MG OF STEROIDS WHY!!
ME :YES I AM, IT WAS ADVICE OF MY DOCTOR,
HER: OH SO YOU DIDN'T SPEAK TO THE DR YOU JUST DECIDED TO TAKE 30MG!!
. ME: ERGH NO DOCTOR TOLD ME TO.
HER,: SO ARE YOU SURE THE DR SAID TAKE 30MG.
ME :YES I DON'T JUST TAKE EXTRA STUFF TO SEE WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN!!
OH OK THEN MMMMM I WILL EMAIL THE DR.
Maybe I should of said oh yes and give myself the occasional top up off MTX, cause I just love the feeling of power it gives me NOT!!!
Anyway lets see were the ball stop, warmest Craig

Good Grief, as if you take extra pills "for a good time"...yeesh
I bent a couple of syringes , so I had to ask for more syringes for my mtx. The pharmacist told me that she was going to "put it on my file" as having extra needles isn't proper....I was stunned at this statement. Put it on my file? Crazy thing to say as the government in my city hands them out for free to drug addicts, even employs nurses & emts in safe injection sites...crazy
I would laugh if it wasn't so sad doh, guess I am lucky as I use the auto pen, press button bang its in 5 seconds later its out!!! no,no Suzan I am talking about the injection doh xx have a great day stay safe x
i could answer No, but my boss lady always checks if I have taken Tramadol as one senses can be dulled!!!! heheheh let you cleaned mined people think about it lol
Sounds like here...the more (illegal) drugs you take, cigarettes you smoke, the more sugary foods you eat......I could go on, but you get the picture......the more help you get.
It seems to me using public money to teach people to cook cheap nutritious food.....just might mean youngsters growing up might start off healthy & not turn in desperation to drugs etc!

The other thing I remembered recently is that I used to take allergy shots - six mixes a week, and they handed me the needles by the boxful without any questions. What in the world changed in the intervening years to make them treat all of us like drug addicts and addicts like the upstanding citizens?
Do they think are illness makes us all thick ! Honestly
Hi craigsif - That makes no sense, but at least you gave her something to think about. So sorry that she is making it little harder there, as if we need that... Let us know how it turns out..
well the nurse phoned me back last night!! the doctors want me to try 15mg per night for the next week, dropping to 10mg following week. if no change I am to phone and the will review.
So lets see were we are in a fortnight, on the up side managed to get a new appointment with specialist in May rather than my previous in Sept.
We had a similar issue with our rheumatology clinic. I was there with hubby when rheumy nurse told him to stop taking sulfasalazine now he's injecting methotrexate. And the sulfasalazine was taken off his prescription! 6 months later the rheumatology gp asked why he'd stopped taking sulfasalazine!! All deny telling him to stop! Dead frustrating to be treated like simpletons! Ah well what's the use 😞 best wishes anyway 😊
You probably went to Charing Cross Hospital. I still do as, for some mysterious reason, my consultant is the only one who hasn't moved to Hammersmith Hospital. Whenever I deal with a nurse, I try to get hold of Antonia; she's ace!
When I have bad flares, I have to go up to 15 mg too, and I can never get lower than 5 mg.
