WRIST SURGERY

Morning all hope everyone is in not too much pain. I had an appointment with an orthopaedic consultant yesterday and have been told I now need surgery on my left wrist. He will be trying to repair the tendon that runs from the knuckle in my wrist up to my small finger as well as replacing the knuckle. He will also have a look at the Lunate bone that has 'Avascular Necrosis'. If they can restore the blood supply to this bone it might not need to be replaced. Depending on the results of this op, they will then look at the left wrist which also has similar problems. Has anybody had this type of surgery. Your advice on recovery would be appreciated. Have a good day all and keep warm xx

Hi Mary. Have had a few surgeries on both my hands, including tendon transfers and knuckle replacements also CP. they have been successful, however when I went on Humira 8 years ago this has calmed down my inflammation levels. I afraid I can't advise on your question about the lunate bone or Avascula Necrosis. But your surgeon seems to know what he is talking about, so wish you well. X
