Hospital yesterday morning after someone cancelled.....

I had a phone call on Wednesday from the rheumy nurse clerk and she said there had been a cancellation for yesterday and did i want it. Off course i did. Anyway off we went yesterday morning for a 9.30am appt. He was very kind and thorough with me. He checked my last blood test which showed whatever was causing my problems were not from Ra,but as it turns out it is a fibro flare and it is a bad one this time. He has put me on two weeks of steroids and then i have to go back to see the nurse and a possibility of changing my meds which control the pain. We will see how it goes and i hope it goes quickly,though i am still in a lot of pain this morning. My feet still burn and i don't like anything touching them either. I have slept well which is something. xxxxx

I'm pleased for you that you were seen so soon. But, may I ask, what showed up in your bloods for a fibro flare and not ra?

I was already diagnosed woth fibro by the consultant i saw who is the expert in his field and it was him i saw yesterday. Nothing shows in the bloods to say fibro yet,xxxx

I'm no expert but it's interesting that you were prescribed steroids for a Fibro flare - I didn't think they were effective for this? Nevertheless, I hope they work their magic and you're soon feeling better x

Aww bless u I'm in sooo much pain with right hand soo swollen can't grip it even hold kettle 🤕Waiting on appointment with rheumatologist back to see gp next week for blood results xx

I have fibro and RA - a particularly crummy combination isn't it?!

Like you Crashdoll i too have ra/fibro and add cfs to the mix and any wonder i am not having a good time at the moment.xxxx
