Hi I'm new to this Health Unlocked setting. I suffer with arthritis and also have a disc prolapse. I have a Tarlov Cyst at the lower end of my spine. I take pain medication and manage quite well on a day to day basis. I have recently been referred to an orthopaedic surgeon to assess my hip problem. I am a young 65 who love gardening ( despite paying for it afterwards ) and I enjoy travelling when I can. I love walking along the beach. I am looking forward to reading others posts to see how they manage. I am hoping to pick up some useful tips.

Moojie welcome to our site and i am sorry you have had to join us because you have Arthur,we are a great bunch of people who have a wicked sense of humour to get us through our bad times. I too like gardening and pay for it afterwards as well. Anyway i hope you find us helpful and amusing as well.xxxx
Morning Moojie & welcome from me. I hope you enjoy being here with us, a fellow beach walker & garden lover, though I have a much smaller one to work on now than my previous one it still lifts my mood when I'm in it! Always happy to share tips & experiences, even off topic fun so hope you'll find it as helpful as I have.
Hello Moojie. I am glad you're here. Gardening can be so relaxing but hard on the joints.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend. ☀🍀

Hi Moojie, welcome to our club,I hope you find it helpful,it's good to share things with others in the same situation, you don't feel so alone.i also have a disc prolapse, caused by the RA and osteoporosis, I am finding it difficult to do much,as obviously no lifting, pulling etc.Waiting to see if there is any treatment for this,as it's quite scary when your spine is involved.once again welcome.x
Thank you for the welcome. The music was hilarious !!! Xxx
Welcome to the Titanic, we all enjoy the journey but know what the future is. I too have very similar skeletal issues as you do, although from different causes, I used to enjoy a walk from my flat in Twickenham, along the river to Richmond, now I can hardly make it to the nearest bus stop, but hey, I have a friend that takes me out shopping and I can get the bus to town have a couple of hours rest and pints then I am ready for the journey home, looking forward to my Friday bingo excursion to the Legion at the end of my road, I do live the high life. I don't think I could survive clubbing for the night, I was still doing that up to 4 years ago, not bad for my age. Next year the Queen and I will celebrate, but I will be the one retiring on that day, she still has to carry on.
Hi Lavazza - welcome to the forum.
This thread is seven years old so you may not get a response; it might be worth you starting a new one 😉
