Rant coming re: chest infection...............

Do all excuse the rant that is coming.......

I was at the drs this afternoon  as i felt so poorly and the fatigue i was feeling so tired. It spoilt my holiday last week as i was too tired to really enjoy my holiday. The trouble with my feeling like i was is because at Easter i was down at the out of hours surgery with the same problem and he didn't give me antibiotics as he said i had viral infection and here i am now with a chest infection and i had it at Easter. I know how i felt then and i knew then i had a chest infection, but this time i wasn't expecting it as i thought it was my fibro/cfs. I am so mad as i don't think i would feel as bad as i am if the doctor at Easter had treat me like i expected. I know my body as i have had this before and you don't get to 60 and not know your own body. I also had a tempreture as well and i thought it was the ra/fibro. I want to swear about the doctor who treat me at Easter because if he had listened to me i probally wouldn't be as bad as i am.

Thank you all for letting me rant.xxxxx

So sorry  you are feeling like this --- you are right- we do know our own bodies, and know when we are poorly.

I'll  swear for you ################!!! Hope  you are soon feeling better xx

So frustrating  when your knowledge  of your own body is ignored. I had a chest infection at the beginning  of the year....consultant insisted on a sputum test before treating it. Ended up with a week's  delay in treatment, and it took weeks to get rid of it. Hope you feel better soon. M x

I feel for you Sylvi.

I think I said to you a while back no-one knows knows their own body better than the person in it.

So why don't people listen when you tell them.?

It's a shame your holiday was clouded with ill health as you were so looking forward to it

Is there any Other GPmyou could see at your practise, one with gumption and a pair of ears that actually work?

I hope you can get sorted soon.

Lots of love.

Crusee

I know what you mean Sylvi, we know our own bodies. As it's a bank holiday weekend do you think it would be an idea to go to a walk-in centre, if you have one nearby? Another set of eyes, different ideas & all that? x

sylvi, I'm not surprised you're fed up with chest infection going on so long.  Has your GP given you antibiotics now ??  Hope so as it won't clear up without.  Our grandson Luke has got nasty throat and chest this week and been so tired.  We're worrying about him as he's got exams starting next Tuesday.  It's a shame you were so tired for your holiday, hope you feel better soon xxx

I am angry at out of hour doctors, not for myself but my 5 year old granddaughter. We took her as she had been up all night complaining of pain in her ear, she had a temperature and looked awful. Not a child who complains, just said Gran I feel really ill, it broke my heart. Wanted to take the pain from her, have plenty of pain a bit more wouldn't matter. We were told her ear looked normal, that night her ear drum perforated and poured out pus. Own GP very annoyed, prescribed antibiotics. I know this is nothing to do with my RA but that wee girl showed me a thing or two about coping. On the phone yesterday telling me her ear was better, funny though when she was deaf in one ear and me also deaf. A lot of miscommunication. Hope your chest is better now xx
