Have you checked on your prescribing direction label on the container or box? Unless you've just been told to increase your present dose i.e. 5mg tablet x 3. I take 3mg (6mg tablet halved) deflazacort (a corticosteroid) at present not prednisolone (a glucocorticoid) but I've always taken mine in the morning with my other morning meds whatever dose I've been on.

Failing that your Pharmacist where you have your scripts filled should know.

Hi Siskin, I'm on 15mg,was told to take 2in morning and one  in evening,I have been on this dose for about 5months,no side effects, not even weight gain, hope you get on ok with the new dosage.

When I was taking prednisolone I took all 15 mcg at once at breakfast time - I was told to do that. When I was reducing my dose I still took it all at once before breakfast.

I was put on am dose. Then the Rheummy changed it to half am and half pm. That gave me such an appetite that horses were in danger of being eaten and restless nights. I am down to one tablet which I take in am.

What were you told?   Usually on that kind of dose you would take them all in the morning - there is no real reason to split the dose, and taking it in the morning reduces the likelihood of problems sleeping (that would certainly be an issue if you took the same dose late at night)

I take mine at breakfast advices to do so and definitely not to take them in the evening or they will keep you awake.

I take it only when I get a very bad flare up of RA and I only take for 3 or 4 days.  My doctor  said this was not harmful.

I take mine in the morning with food to help protect the stomach

I started on 20mg last week and to reduce down to  5mg over 6 weeks. Consultant told me it's important to take them as one dose at breakfast. X

I have always been advised to take them all in the morning after breakfast. Even when I have been on really high dose i have been told to take it that way. If in doubt ask your health professional or pharmacist for advice.
