Daughter update.

She has had her transplant date put back 8 days by the donor. This really upset her and caused her body to react. She came out on Sunday evening and went in for blood tests yesterday, this was when she was told about the change. She immediately had a temp. and was readmitted. She was in a right state her husband said and had to have meds to calm her down. He went in early this morning and said that her body is tired and they are giving her 3 bags of blood to try and bring her back. If no improvement soon then she will be mover to icu . Its such a change to how she was last week. She was so positive as they had a donor prepared to give full bone marrow.

This has really upset me and i cant stop crying which isnt like me.

I'm so sorry to hear this Chris. It's obviously hit her badly, well it would anyone wouldn't it? You must be at your wit's end as well. Be assured though if she does need to go into ICU she will be well cared for, the nurses are so dedicated, they're angels they really are. Sounds like you're in need of hugs, here's one from me (x).

I'm so sorry to hear that, it must have been a terrible shock your poor daughter - well for all of you - to get to that stage and then have her operation cancelled. I'm not surprised you are crying, I would be too in your place, well anyone would I think.

How difficult for you all, much sympathy. The hospital probably have great experience of this sort of thing, so will be the best people to look after her and get her back to where she was last week. It certainly sounds as if they're taking care of her, and I hope someone is taking care of you too. I really hope tomorrow is a better day for you all.

Its so sad but perhaps out of the donor's control. They may be ill or have other issues and simply can't help there situation. I don't know and feel so sorry for your daughter but being a donor can't be easy and I suppose that they must be sure that they want to go ahead.

I hope your tears are stopping as your daughter may be more upset because you are upset and that things are resolved very quickly.

thank you everyone for your support. The last i heard was she has improved slightly, this was at tea time. I think that was after she had had the blood. Her husband said for me not to go in to her at the moment, but i will as soon as he thinks she can cope.

Oh dear what an awful time you are all having, hopefully thing will improve soon for you all. I can't do anything physically, too old now. I registered as a bone marrow donor many many years ago and an organ donor on my death. If we all register and encourage others to do the same it will help so many others. Sending you all good wishes xx
