Well dreaded brown envelope arrived today. Have been awarded enhanced rate for daily living but no mobility so happy after all the stress of it all.At least next time I will know what to expect at the next hassle. So don't despair people it is not all that bad.

Same as me! So pleased for you as I know the difference it's made for me. I don't feel guilty, well more less bothered really, that I buy stuff to help me because I have my own money to buy them with.

Hope your Blue Badge was renewed too?

Ah thanks yes got through the blue badge and bus pass ,at least I can rest assured for 3 years now.It was all stressful having to go through it all feeling like your on trial.I was surprised I did not get standard mobility cause my ankles are shifting shape but I am grateful none the less.

I have problematic feet & ankles & see the Podiatrist regularly, now! Trouble was I had no official written evidence as my Rheumy disregarded them for 2 years. The annoying thing was she eventually did only a month after I received notification that my reconsideration was refused & the first award stood. Just a matter of bad timing but I wasn't to know that! If I had some idea she would & see the state they're in I could have asked for an extension & include all the evidence I now have to submit with my request for reconsideration. Ah well, water under the bridge now.

If you feel your not having been awarded mobility (at either rate) was unjust & have enough evidence to back your claim you could always ask for reconsideration? Just be sure you do it within the allotted time if you decide to go ahead. The info on how to do it is included in the blurb when you received your award.

Thanks,I think perhaps I should leave it I don't want to muck up the original award it was hard enough to get that.

I understand totally. It's such an ordeal isn't it so think you're probably wise. The review will come around all too soon but at least you'll be prepared next time & know what to expect, that's how I've looked at it.

Really pleased for you. It seems like a process that requires a lot of stamina and resilience to undertake so it is nice to hear about a positive outcome.

Not what you're looking for?
