Afternoon everyone, this afternoon i am feeling very sorry for myself. Last night when i was sitting on the side of the bath drying myselkf off the bath mar slipped and i went down on the floor. Stubbed my big toe on my right foot and badly bruised my left arm between my wrist and elbow and it is a lovely colour and both are very sore. my big toe has swollen and is very sore and i can't wear full shoes at the moment. Now i am waiting for a flare to rea its ugly head. Haven't skept all night either so i am tired and cranky. Hugs to everyone.xxxx
Might have broken my toe........: Afternoon everyone... - NRAS
Might have broken my toe........
Why do things like this happen when you're not on top form? Always happens to me too. I hope you've not broken it Sylvi but do go to A&E especially if it becomes numb or it changes colour. Stands to reason but rest up & try to relax, it's no doubt shaken you up. Slather on arnica gel if you've got any, your arm too. x
Oh Sylvie sending cyber hugs xx💕
So easy todo!! Hope the stiffness goes soon M xx
You have my understanding and sympathy. I stubbed my big toe and fractured it just over 3 week ago. Keep applying ice and keep it up.
It does flipping hurt and today is the first day I have got a soft loose shoe on.
Do hope it settles soon for you.
Take care
Aww nooo I'm so sorry to hear this it sounds horrid and hope you don't get a bad flare or any flare. Hope for sleep tonight and gentle hugs. xx
Yes arnica gel does wonders for me too!
Hi Sylvi, It must have been a day of falling, I also fell yesterday! I was transferring from my wheelchair to my office chair and misjudged it, the chair went flying backwards and I ended up on the floor. What a job to get up for a start! Of courses the natural thing to do is to put your hands down to break the fall, I fell backwards. Both my shoulders and wrists are now agony.
Aww bless you darling i hope you haven't done too much damage to yourself. I am not alone then in falling. Thats the problem with us we fall very easily don't we.
Hugs from me.xxx
Yes, we do fall and I always fall backwards. I don't think I have done any serious damage. BTW I went to the rheumy last week and had a foot X-Ray as I can't move both ankles and toes. He found that the bone was fused in my ankles. From other things I am now thinking it's Psoriatic Arthritis as that would explain my skin problems. When he I asked him about the possibility of it being that he just looked blank! The experts it seems are in Bath at the university hospital, but no way can I get there. I hope you haven't broken your toe they don't seem to do anything with broken toes I broke the one next to my little toe a few years ago and was told they just leave it to heal itself.
I don't think it is broken to be honest, but it is still very sore and my arm looks worse than my toe as you can see it more. It will be flip flops to the wedding i am going to on Friday though.xxx
I attempted flip flops when I broke my toe and I could never get used to them, the bit that goes between your toes always hurt me even buying the soft type.
How's the toe now???
Feel better soon Sylvie X
Take care sylvi, it's so easy to slip/fall and hurt ourselves. For everyone else it's nothing but a slight injury can be big in RA world. I had a fall in the bathroom last year, got badly bruised. Rheumatology should issue us all with arm/knee/foot pads and crash helmet.
