I was just wondering if any of you have ever had where it hurts in the middle of yr shoulder blade when you breath and hurts when you move
Hi all: I was just wondering if any of you have ever... - NRAS
Hi all
Yes I get this sometimes - lasts a few days usually then just goes away again. Had it on Monday and it affected my ability to move around and walk normally as everything seemed to hurt from it. Next day it was gone. Not sure if this is RA related or not but last time it happened my ESR was high so I'm guessing it is something inflammatory with me anyhow. Horrible as it is so central.
Is it in the middle of your rib cage at the front too? It may be costochronditis. I am very familiar with it and as Twitchytoes says inflammation. I also get that when I am in major flare, Incredibly painful.
I suffer with asthma and this is how it feels when my asthma is bad. Maybe go and get checked out in case you have a chest infection x
Yes get it checked out. I have pains in my shoulder blade at the back, but i have Fibromyalgia so i put it down to that. xxxx
Yes I have this at the moment. i have had it before and I can't say that any of the Rheumy team have been interested in this - they seem to put it down to myalgic pain, but it feels like the same pain as happens in the wrist joints etc. And because it was suggested some of it might be nerve root pain, I saw the osteopath. She managed to stretch the muscles that were in spasm around the area over about three weeks, but then said what she was finding was inflammation not mechanical and to see the rheumy's again. So I think that it is probably costochondritis.
OA is the culprit with me when I have pain in this area. Cervical spondylosis has been particularly bad the past few months resulting in really rotten headaches but now on amitriptyline which has made a considerable difference as my shoulder muscles were knotting, less so after some gentle massage. Mention it to your Rheumy team if your appointment is imminent. I hope it eases though, not nice!
