Good morning everyone. Well as you know from my previous posts that i have not been very well. Well we went out for a walk up the village yesterday afternoon and i took my camera and i think i have some lovely shots.
Well when we got home things started to go wrong. As you know from my previous posts i have tinnitus, well it went off big time. The room went round and my balance went and i was so very sick. Hubby called the paramedics and while they were here i was sick very badly too and when they saw that they decided i would be better in hospital. Well i was taken down in the ambulance and they took my blood pressure ecg as well and in the end they gave me an injection to settle things down. My head felt very weird and delicate, but things settled down thank goodness. My friends who turned up as i was going brought hubby down and Sheila traveled with me in the ambulance. When i got home i had a cup of tea and went to bed and took a sleeping tablet and slept. I feel lot better this morning and the noise in my ear though still there is not as load this morning.
Thank you to those of you who answered my last post. Hugs everyone.xxxx

They never mentioned it yesterday when i was down the hospital, they were concentrating on getting me better. I will make an appointment to see doctor next week and see if he can refer me back to the hearing clinic. A friend on one of the rheumatoid groups i am in suggested chewing sugar free gum and hubby is going to pick me some up when he goes up the village and i will give that a go. Hopefully that will help.xxxx
What a horrible end to a lovely day. Hope you're feeling brighter now. But it does sound more like menieres than just tinnitus, so hopeGP checks you over.
Hiya Syvi. I'm another who jumped on the thought it might well be Ménière's. My m-i-l had it before she was diagnosed & her Consultant gave her some very odd exercises to do on the edge of her bed which helped her, better than the meds anyhow. I remember when I was researching it I was surprised to read it can be autoimmune related as well. Is there anything that isn't lol?! I do hope it's a cut & dried simple diagnosis if it is MD then you know what you're coping with. Nothing worse than feeling as you do & no real cause to blame it on. x
I first had it when i was pregnant with my daughter 31 yrs ago. Then it was hormones, then 20 yrs ago i was having problems with my womb each month, then they put me on a drug to shut my ovaries down and i have had Tinnitus ever since. It has put me in hospital three times in that 31 yr period. I am now on tender hooks until it settles down.xxx
Oh I can totally understand Sylvi. I had no end of troubles when I was put on Danazol before starting IVF. Nightmare, anything that messes up your hormones unnaturally. I'm sure you'll be really on edge until it settles, is there nothing that can help you when it happens, something to get you through it if not a regular tablet? x
That's helpful at least but hope they will investigate what the cause is for you. It's miserable, I know. That on top of everything else will be no fun at all. x
That was the drug they gave me and at the time i was no. 11 in the world that it gave tinnitus to,i was told by one of my doctors that i was neurotic would you believe. I have had a hearing aid since.xxxx
Sounds like that doctor was nearing retirement or in need of it, neurotic indeed. Even if a reaction to a drug is rare it doesn't mean the patient's doolally & dismissed.
Danazol was the first of a few they tried on me & all of them messed me up & I'm not one prone to intolerancies to meds.
Poor you Sylvi. I get dizzy spells often but not in your league and not with tinnitus. I did look up Ménière's as my GP mentioned this too but what strikes a chord is that I had very bad benign horizontal vertigo during my first pregnancy - hormonal I was told. Then a few years later I had an episode of Bell's Palsy and then a horrible blister on my inner ear which gave me severe pain during another pregnancy. So I'm always jumpy about ear related things - understand a bit of how horrible yours must be at least. Take care and I hope they can get to the bottom of it for you. I think I read that Ménière's can go with RA/ autoimmune conditions sometimes. Txx
Hope you feel better soon Sylvi. Good luck with getting to the bottom of it x
