WHat a night i have just had...

Morning i will do another post shortly on Christmas. I went out last night up the club and we was home by ten. ANyway i suffered from so much sleep i took a couple of old sleeping tablets in the attempt to get some sleep. Well that was all well and fine, until i wake up in hospital after having a seizure and i can't remember a thing about it. I was out for a good while before the paramedics brought me round. I was given a ct scan and took a load of blood out of me. My hubby rang my daughter as we were with her in the club and she came with her dad in our car while i was in the ambulance. It has been a long night despite the fact i can't remember much about it. I have had about three hours sleep and when i got up at seven i thought great i had a good nights sleep only i hadn't i had only had about three hours. I am being referred to see the neurologist. Also i am not allowed to drive until i have seen them. I am not sure whether the out of date drugs caused it or because i was so tired, heavens only knows. I know i haven't felt well for a while. So i know i will be resting all day as i want to go out tonight with the family if they will let me., which i am begining to think they won't, we will see.xxxx

It has to be the sleeping tablets. Have you chanted your RA needs since taking those the previous time? Gosh what a night as you say. Hope you have a natural sleep tonight due to being so tired after all the activity yesterday! Wake up more refreshed and ready for Christmas Day. Hugs. xx xx xx

A scary night for you Sylvi. Have the medics any idea what may have caused the seizure ? You had bloods taken, was your glucose levels ok ? I have type 1 diabetes, on insulin, and a fear I have is seizures during night if sugar levels drop too low. That’s why I always check my glucose levels before I get into bed. My GP will not give me sleeping tabs, he says the cocktail of drugs I’m on is the reason, he reckons that sleeping tablets cause many deaths !! Like you I suffer much pain and sleeping for more than a couple of hours is nigh on impossible for me, it’s a massive problem and means I’m exhausted most of the time, so I do a bit, then nap a bit, that’s my way of life now. My grandson Luke has put lots of apps on my iPad for me, things like relaxation, mindfulness, calmsleep etc., and they really have helped to calm me, and I have found I have slept bit longer before waking in pain.

We are going to our youngest daughters for Christmas Day as she insisted on cooking lunch this year, so no lunch for me to cook tomorrow, a real treat ! So here I am, reading the Sunday papers and listening to carols on Classic FM, feeling chilled out for once, a rare thing for me these days.

Take it easy Sylvi, and I would think carefully about going out tonight, maybe stay home and enjoy some peace. Also remember that any flashing lights, such as disco lights can cause seizures and migraines etc xxxx

They rang this morning to see how i was and when i told them i can't remember a thing about it they mad me go back down there asap. ANyway in the new year they are going to have me back and run tests to see if this was a one off like they think it was. I am more exhausted than normal now.xxxx

Well do take things gently Sylvi, you’ve had a horrible experience, and don’t take any more sleeping tablets until you’ve had those tests and been cleared ! Take care, xxxxx. Lynda

Sylvi .. I don't usually like lavender products as if they are strong they give me nightmares, but someone bought me a gorgeous delicate Deep Sleep Pillow spray by This Works. I usually wake a lot (dry nose/thirsty/post meno) and this actually did seem to keep me in a gentle slumber a bit longer. Yes delicate and gentle chamomile and something else as well as subtle lavender. Also I alternate with my micro mist diffuser (by Aennon) which gently hisses a waft of essential oils (lime at the moment!) over the bedroom on a timer. It's so fine and subtle and you can control it you want it even finer with the timings. Recommend both products very much. xxx

Thank you all very much for your kind words,I am feeling brighter,it came to me this morning that it could also be cause by the stress of this last autumn what with the pneumonia recovering from surgery then at the end of it all a virus and lack of sleep all contributed

to it all hence why i needed some sleep and why i took some sleeping tablets so i could be at least rested for the big day. Well i did had six hours sleep last night and i don't feel too bad. I am awake and i have had my first mug of tea of the day.

So i am wishing you all a very peaceful, happy and painfree day to you all and thank you all for keeping me going through thick and thin. I love you all very much.xxxxxxx

Goodness me, Sylvi! I know I know I’ve said this before, but is there no end to your problems? I hope you soon begin to feel better, and that you don’t have to wait too long for a neurologist’s appointment.
