Got up this morning in a lot of pain. Didn't want to go out to a county parade, but i knew hubby wouldn't let me stay at home as i take the photos for our legion. Any way parade went well and took a lot of photos. We got home just after two in the afternoon. My neck and hands were giving me an awful lot of grief this afternoon. I ended up having a good cry and hugs from hubby, son, and my daughter in law and since hubby took them home i have calmed down a bit. I am just so exhausted now and my hands are so sore and my neck as well. I took my regular drugs and i added a Naproxen to the mix to aid the pain. I will have a bath soon and settle myself in my bed and hope tomorrow is a better day as we have another parade to go to,but if it is raining i won't go.
HUgs to you all.xxxx

I really feel for you Sylvi. It's awful when you get to the point of crying. Apols if I've mentioned this before but have you tried BuTrans patches? I've had much better relief from my OA pain with them, I still have some pain & trying gabapentin for that (6 weeks now titring up though not doing much yet) but the BuTrans tackles the deep pain if you understand me which makes it easier to cope with the other shoulder, foot, neck & back pains. x
They send me stupid darling. They are morphine based and i can't take morphine i am afraid. I took naproxen instead. I will watch countryfile and then go and have a bath and get into bed.xxxx
That sounds like a plan. Naproxen does nothing for me, funny how what works for one doesn't another but yes buprenorphine is related to morphine so not for you. I hope you have a restful night. x
When are you having your next infusion ? Sending you a big hug to help you. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you. Rest sweetie may try something hot to sooth your painful parts. Love me xxxx
I too have had a really bad day. I woke up in agony with my back and my neck. I have been of my Methotrexate for two weeks now as it made me very sick and also I had blinding headaches.
So I have been on nothing for two weeks except for the usual ibuprofen and cocodamol. It's fair to say that today I have been climbing the walls. I have just got my pyjamas on and hubby has rubbed some tiger balm into my neck.
Tomorrow afternoon I am seeing my rheumatologist nurse and she has already said that she is going to start me on a new DMAIRD . So fingers crossed I can have a better day tomorrow.
I have also decided that I am going to give up my job as a Dental Nurse as I can't keep up like I used too. Do you work? and if so what do you do for a job?
I don't work and haven't since 2009. I got made redundant and my Remploy told me that i wasn't fit to work and i didn't want to hear that, but sadly he was right. I feel a lot brighter than yesterday though thank goodness. There is no explanation to why i am better one day than another.. I hope you get on alright at your rheumy appt. Let me know how you get on please. xxxx
Hi Sylvie sorry to hear you have had a bad day but good on you for getting there. I hope tomorrow will be better for you and that you have a good night xxx
I am so sorry Sylvi to hear that, I live in US and winters here are very cold and humid. This past winter I had no treatments yet, it took me 8 months to get diagnosed when I was so miserable and in pain and they finally test RFactor which was over 1000 totally out of control. On top of that I developed an asthma which I believe it is also related to RA. I was in excrutiating pain, desperate, frustrated and depressed. Finally, I got under treatment only with methroxate, before I was taking naproxene but it was hurting my stomach and had to stop all medicines. My stomach was bleeding. The good news is that all had fall back to a more normal stage and have no flares so far. One of the things I have noticed that maybe a help to you; that stress is a big trigger, lots of rest and sleep, good eating habits and avoid any stress situations helps. i also changed my diet completely; I don't drink coffee, no lactose products, no fats, and minimize the sugar. I know it is a lot, but healthy diet improve the condition a lot at least it is my experience. I hope this may help you some, which you the best blessings.
I don't have sugar in my diet,i don't drink alcohol.I eat fairly healthily anyway. I agree about stress.I have had an hours sleep since we got in and i feel like i could still sleep more the way i am feeling.
I went to a parade today and after yesterday it was just too much and now i am shattered.xxx
