I know how you feel, Lanarkshire has been horrible. Even worse I had no heating or hot water since Sunday morning got it back on Thursday night. There was water in the gas mains so a load of houses were out. They gave me a wee electric fan heater, not enough.

Took me ages to get moving every day and 8 tramadol did not help.

Aye my trams wear off to quick. Within 3 hrs.. had a whole hr sleep since 6 am yesterday... hopefully they'll build up with today's quota and put me out. ..

Found same problem with tramadol years ago. I now take 1 codeine phosphate and two paracetamol, just takes the edge off a little. At night two diazepam and bang out for the night..no pain and feel great in the morning...well till I try to get out of bed that is!!!

Hi, I know how you feel. Its cold and damp in Wales and thankfully am on long term sick as struggling everyday. Dreading the coming months as hate this weather x

We've got to think of something positive, like cosy meals. My father's from Wales and we used to make cawl - a lamb broth - which is very cheering. I was going to go to an exhibition tomorrow but the weather has discouraged me, so I might make a cherry cake.

Edinburgh is grim, we know there's going to be rain later and the leaves are showering down. I'm happy to be indoors most of the time!

I agree with Cathie we need to make winter stews! Shut the outside out & keep as warm as we can. We were threatened with a bleak weekend here on the NW coast but the forecasters got it wrong again & we've got sun & 13˚ but I'll still make the rhubarb crumble I'd planned! :)

We are holidaying in Lanarkshire (down from the north isles!) and it is wet wet wet. I have Raynauds secondary to my RA and am dreading real winter when it descends as already wearing gloves and living in rain coat and hat.

When I'm home I will probably take to my bed again if chilled but somehow being on holiday means I have more energy for exploring the locality with my husband and visiting student sons. Not sleeping well though as no spare bed to escape to when husband starts snoring! Also so tired I went to sleep at 9pm so now downstairs on here waiting for legs and hands to calm down (burning pain) and waiting to get sleepy enough to get back to the cosy snore pad again! at least clocks go back so we all get an extra hour to lie in tomorrow!

Although I am Canadian, my family heritage dates back to 1600's Ireland, somewhere I want to visit one day. My parents are passed on now but I do remember my father going on and on about the weather back in Ireland and his rheumatoid arthritis!!!...us Canadians already know about the damp weather in England, so Scottish damp weather is no surprise....I wasn't sure if it was just a stereotype or true......Kinda like lots of people think all Canadians live with snow 24/7.

Cathie mentioned winter stews...mmmm

I hope the weather is not too bothersome, heating pads can work and soaking in a hot bath!
