I have waited six months for an MRI scan of my right knee which causes so much pain and swelling.I have been diagnosed with RA, OA and fibro but nothing has shown up. I cant believe nothing has shown up as the pain feels so deep in the joint, under the left side and back of the knee. Does anyone else suffer from terrible knee pain. x
MRI SHOWED NOTHING!!!: I have waited six months for an... - NRAS
MRI SHOWED NOTHING!!!
Could the pain be because of the RA?, or even the Fibro because that covers the muscle and the fibres in and around the joint? Just a thought, I hope you get sorted soon.

Hello. Are you taking meds? I did have a lot of knee pain and swelling until my meds kicked in.
I have RA & PsA. I have painful knees and swelling. My dr says it's from the PsA and Enthesitis. Take some time to look that latter one up and see if possibly that could be part of it.
Hi sorry to hear your woes. Yes I believe I have a very similar pattern. I have psa and I suffer the same pain only on the buttuck .it wakes me up at night and I have swelling on the top oc the spine. I have had 2 mri and they showed nothing. I am on mtx and hydro just about to start humira. They gave me an xray yesterday so will hopefully see what's what next appointment. I also have enthisis on my aculese heel and believe this us the same thing the pain is in the muscle's over the joints. Its in the fibres of the muscle that's why its so painfull. And this does mot show up on mri. Good luck with your treatment.
Hi I had the same situation, mri clear, strangely disappointed as my rheumy says everything fine, well I was still in pain felt like knives in the joint, ive been yo yo ing between tramadol and morphine for 3 years now lost my job, and constant pain despite meds, so I saw the doctor last week and she prescribed me a neuropathic painkiller called gabapentin well 4 days in and touch wood nowhere near the pain levels or frequncy ive suffered for years
I have exactly the same issue with my right knee. Frustratingly nothing to be done, just learn to manage the pain and suffer in silence.
Hi, ask the question, Could it be a "Bakers Cyst"
These are very painful, once it is drained the pain goes, I battled for ages with this,,,,, it might be but it might not,,,,, just ask the question.
I have one of those Baker's cysts. How long do they last? How do they form in the first place?
no one DO NOT TRUST AN MRI when i went in 12 months after the event after compaining for ages they said nothing wrong with the knee and going in their if we find nothing it wont mend it.
Well i knew my own body WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE OPERATION AND HE SHOWED ME THE PICTURES well half the inside of the knee had craters in it LIKE THE MOONS SUFRACE it looked like on the pictures he showed me.
you need half a knee he said and your acl is significantly streatched SO DONT TRUST WHAT THEY SEE could be a bit of cartlidge wandering around in their or bakers sist on back of knee but you say its deep in the knee.
From what ive seen of the best i would rather go to the vets with it next time at least they will fix it while they r in their he didnt just closed it up and cleaned it out
That's exactly what I'm going through! My doctor said the underside of my left kneecap was rough and she (my doctor) recommended a surgeon and physiotherapy.
I have the same problem I’ve been suffering with strong pain in my left knee had a mri and came back clear the pains unbearable
Yes. My doctor asked me to take MRI
