Primary care: Have any of you been to primary care in... - NRAS
Primary care
*sure
As in Doctors? I went to my GP and he helped a little but got to a point in which he was unsure on what to do because he did not understand the condition as well as my consultant. Hope you get some pain relief soon.
As in docs at hospital
I only ever went to hospital (A&E) once and I didn't have a good experience, they did not understand or have any consideration to the pain I was in but each hospital to their own, they may be able to help
just don't know what to do tonight it's both my knees and my wrists!
is there a number you can ring at your local hospital for advice? I found this more helpful than actually going down to the hospital. They can advise you on what to do and will let you know if they feel you should go down
Probably but I just don't know what to say feel like screaming. Would call ambulance if I could but it's not life or death
Im not sure I can help with anything, I'm sorry your in so much pain and I hope you get something sorted
I am so sorry you are in such pain and don't know what to do. I have been there and know how frightening it can be. Could u ring 111 which is the urgent but non emergency care number? If they decide you need to go to a and e they can call an ambulance to come out to you or arrange for a doctor to come out. I know as you say that it may not be life or death but in my book screaming pain counts as a medical emergency and you should be able to get some medical help and advice. Really hope you can get the help you need very soon. Thinking of you X
i would call them if you haven't already! I did a couple of times before I knew what was happening re-RA and they strapped my up, gave me pain relief and were very nice
I do know of someone who called and was taken in to the RA respite clinic for some care and another who was not yet diagnosed, on a waiting list but got seen to straight away and treated. Hope you ok x
I've called the old equivalent of the 111 number before because of severe pain in my neck. The doctor I spoke to was extremely helpful. Helping people in pain who cannot wait until their doctor's surgery is next open is one of the reasons for the helpline being available. I hope things improve quickly for you.
Hi Dolly, I don't have any advice, but saw where you said you would call an ambulance if you could and just want you to know you have my sympathy. I have been in that kind of pain with wrists, knees, and, ankles. It is horrible and my heart goes out to you. I hope you get relief as soon as possible!
