Just recieved a letter from my Rhummy saying I'm now eligible for the 3rd primary covid dose with the booster dose to follow in 6 months and book through NHS online or call119. The link was a very long one
this led to the normal NHS website which said I wasn't eligible so phoned and was then told 119 doesnt do bookings for this, go find a drop in clinic take your letter they might do it for you! All that without even taking my details. So now in limbo as no drop in clinic near me this weekend and the mass vaccination centre is miles away and next to hospital that I have been advised not to travel to hence my appoints with consultant or phone ones because I I use public transport Heres hoping next weekend one will be closer .

Exactly the thing that's happened to me. What's the point of telling you you need it and then giving you incorrect info on how to resolve it?? I dislike the idea of just having to try my luck but maybe I will. (I've written to my MP and there are other posts on here about this).
I had my booster, but was told when I was there that it will be classed as my third dose as I am immunosuppressed and I will have a 4th which is a booster after 8 weeks. There is no difference in the dosage, so it is just how it is recorded, boosters or third primary. I get the sense that nobody knows what they are doing.
I phone and spoke to a person on the 119 booking line and he explain that they do not do them as it was different to a booster vaccination and to get back to my hospital and ask them. So now waiting for a reply
I had 3rd jab Friday nhs called it a booster but the jcvi in green book say I should have 3rd primary dose I had been on anti tnf within 2 months of first dose and had radiotherapy as well. The NHS doesn’t do joined up nor do the GPs who ignore my biologic drugs. Anyway I’ve had my third and hopefully will be restarting biologics but it’s rutximab this time. I give up! As for continuity of care with GPs my named gp who I saw once hasn’t lasted so I’ll be on my 4/5th in three years🤬
Be sure to ask your rheumy re your fourth dose or booster of that applies to you as it’s seems to be for some people saying they’ll have a fourth vaccine (booster), and it’s the timing of having vaccines after you’ve had your Rtx which is very important. x
I had text to arrange booster but confused as I see posts re 3rd primary then booster. Contacted 119 this morning prior to app in the afternoon. They told me it was a 3rd primary I would be having even though it said booster on text. Went to vacc centre and said I believe this is a 3rd primary as this was what 119 had told me. Their response was 119 didn't know what they were talking about, that this was a booster......confused, conflicting stories from NHS staff. If they don't know who does!!!!!
The JCVI need to clarity it. Maybe they have but some docs aren’t taking notice. It was like the clinically vulnerable and the clinically extremely vulnerable differentiations or the vaccines and medications timings. So much differing advice on such a crucial thing. x
I’d go back to your rheumatology department and let them know that their information was incorrect and ask if they can sort something for you. My department arranged for me to have mine at the hospital hub.
I heard from them today aparently the letters had been sent out to early . But I can go to the vaccinationn centre further away from the hospital I cant go to for face to face appointment because I travel by public transport.
After receiving the letter re third dose I rang 119 yesterday and was told to ring back in a week as they haven’t received any information about 3rd doses so couldn’t book me in as my current information shows I am ineligible. Seems like the rheumy letters have been sent out before the booking system has been updated.
Further to my previous post my GP got back me yesterday and we had a long conversation re, 3rd primary dose. He wasn’t aware of the guidelines but listened to my explanation and thanked me for informing him of the protocol. He rang the CCG on my behalf and assured me I would be contacted imminently. He admitted there was a glitch in the system so I hope my persistence will help others in my position. So hoping to get vaccine this week then can book date for left hip replacement in a couple of weeks as it is urgently needed. Just baffled that guidelines published a month ago regarding us that are critically extremely vulnerable were not clarified. Consultants, GPs and the online booking service were not aware of a 3rd. Primary dose scenario which has led to a lot of anxiety and frustration.
