hi Chelle, I too have been dealing with a bad flare, got it so bad in my hips (never had it here before,) nothing stops pain, feeling a bit like a junky, throwing all these tabs: at it so sympathise with you, What medication are you on? and if yours always flares on a weekend, then maybe you are doing something or eating something early to mid week that is prompting this flare, I found that if I eat cherry toms. and oranges, I get some flare, although I am aware that food does not prompt with everyone. but it might be worth you watching these thins. hope your without pain soon love bluetit 33

I know to how you feel; I am going through a Arthritis flareup due to being on Humira & getting a strep throat infection & having to get off the Humira until I finished taking the antibiotic medicine. One morning, I woke up & I could not put any weight on right ankle - it was so swollen & hurt so bad. Then a couple days later, the ankle was better & then my knees started to swell & hurt a lot. I went to the Rheumatologist & he wanted me to go to a Orthopedic dr. The Orthopedic dr did MRI on both knees but there was no damage or injury to my knees - just the Arthritid. Now, I have to go back to the Rheumatologist & he is going to change the Humira to another Arthritis medicine.

I have had Arthritis for 27 years & you never get prepared for these flareups. All you want, is for the pain to go away.

Hope you get to feeling better & keep in contact with your doctor.

How can you tell when a flare is starting and how long do they last. I have been on gabapentine. And plaque nil for 3 months and I still have pain in some joint everyday. Does the pain ever stop.

I'm working out pool and treadmill but I can't get the pain to go away sometimes I get really fatigued and brain fog also. I feel like I'm losing my mind at times.

And my rheumatologist is a moron that won't answer not 1 of my questions

Hi

Like you I have been living on naproxen and codomol recently. Some days nothing seems to touch it.

I was only diagnosed at the end if last year and as the RA was only in my hands it was agreed not to start on medication. However the past 2 months it has been all over more recent in my neck. My Dr advised the above pain relief but really I feel is not doing that much. Are you also on RA medication?people keep telling me the pain will subside when the flare up dies down, but it is so hard.

Hiya HevJ. Maybe it's time for another visit to your GP. Don't wish to alarm you but if you've been experiencing pain elsewhere it's possible that RD is progressing in your other joints. If this is the case it would be best to see your GP & say what you've written here as, if this is the case, the sooner you're treated the better your prognosis. You don't say whether your GP did a blood test to determine whether you had any inflammation to support his decision not to start you on medication but think I'd go & see him so you at least you'll know one way or the other.

When I was first diagnosed it only presented in my feet & my GP requested an urgent referral & was started on treatment immediately & certainly feel it has slowed the progression.

Hope this helps.

Hiya chelleD. It can be worse at the weekend, maybe due to the stresses of the week? Sounds as though you're not benefiting from the pain relief prescribed for you as Tramadol is quite a strong painkiller. My husband was prescribed it & although couldn't tolerate it I do remember he was prescribed paracetamol to take alongside it.

Hope you feel better soon.
