A flare up!

Well i should of known, i wondered why i was feeling so tired n rotten, the flare up of my ankylosing spodylitis n RA, my hands are agony, n every joint is sore, i feel like every ounze of energy has gone and its taken every strength i have to move. sorry for moaning folks but i feel rotten.

Hiu aston, so sorry you are feeling so rough. Have you got any painkillers and anti inflammatories you can take? they do work and will help to reduce the inflammation and pain. I also find that plunging my hands and wrists into cold water seems to do the trick as well.

Try to get as much rest as you can. During a flare up, the body is desparately trying to cope so overdoing it just puts it under more strain. Put your feet up and let others wait on you.

thanks everyone, i do take Etorocoxib, Paracetamol and im on Humira, but i always keep Steroids in so have taken some of them today too, hopefully they will kick in soon and things get better, of course this would happen whilst im on holiday from work this week and was going to do some nice family stuff!!!! today i've not even stuck my nose out the door, it's been too cold and wet. might potter out tomorrow though.

Hi There

I was wondering whether I was the only one AS sufferer using this site but you now have shown up. So yes I know how you feel because I have a bad flare up. No sleep last night due to AS, trapped nerve in my neck which seems to irritate me when I lie down. Plus I took Tramadol too late which can keep me awake although it did take away some of the pain. Oh and my right knee seems to have worn out once again so yes I want to moan. On the bright side its sunny here and I will get out for a bit of fresh air.

Its good to know im not moaning alone! used tn take tramadol 600mg a day but had to weaned of it! im waiting to have my left knee replaced iv had 6 ops on it, its knackered!
