So My tale of woe - it started on Sunday feeling odd all day a bit squeamish and light headed but nothing I could put my finger on, I stayed home instead of going to my great niece and nephews christening, had a restful day and early night - still not much sleep Monday morning got up and went to work, still feeling under the weather.
Disaster - Chest Pains oh well says me its indigestion/stress/asthma it will go not so say my staff and then my dear staff went behind my back and called GP who turned up within 5 minutes with some vague excuse about checking on one of the clients, (I work in the village I live in so me and the clients have same GP) then he starts asking me questions next thing I know there is a paramedic there my poor office has never seen anything like it machines everywhere its only a little office and eeeek so many people squashed in -GP, nurse, paramedic and 2 ambulance technicians oh and me - needles - canulas - little sticky things all over my chest n wrists n ankles and despite my protests they carted me off to hospital lights flashing and sirens sounding -
Well I was kept in overnight and all day yesterday tests X-rays bloods you name it then the best news ever -nothing they were all fine diagnosis -"you have been overdoing things, lots of stress oh and you are overweight” well how dare he student doctor say I was obese !!! gees like I don’t know I am fat they certainly no how to kick a girl when she is down, I do have to have an outpatient appointment to have a heart scan just to be sure.
Then today back I went to hospital for the said first MTX injection the first question was about my trip to hospital .sigh …. then the bad news - when they did all the blood test on Monday one of the tests was liver function and yep you have guessed it was high 69 !!!! now how did that happen ??? so all I came home with was a sharps box!!
I now have to have another blood test - booked for next Monday and a new appointment for next Wednesday when hopefully I will have my injection.

Oh Jen, what a catalogue of disasters! You don't do things by half do you bless you.
I got chest pains a couple of days after I got diagnosed with RA. Got admitted to a similar telling off from cardiologist and sent home. Next day more chest pain, back in worried to GP , got sent for tests and found I had an very fast pulse, atrial fibrillation , I felt like telling the doc I told you! But then realised I didn't want a wonky pulse lol. But got tablets after echocardiogram s and exercise tests etc and been fine since.
Now I not want you to follow my path with more pain lol so take a breath, they are probably right and you won't have any more problems. Hope the blood tests next week are ok and you can get your meds started! Axx
Thank you it's all just so frustrating I think I have had more hospital/ GP appointments and blood tests since I was diagnosed with RA than in my entire life lol good job I don't have a problem with needles
On a positive note I had decided on New Year's Day to loose weight this year I have holiday on beach booked for sept and dont want to feel like I did last time - huge- first weigh in this morning and I lost 8 lbs woop woop
Hi Jen, how did it go? not too bad I hope, I now inject myself at home each week.
