It’s been a while since I had to write a blog, so hope that my writing will not be too rusty. Since then, we’ve had one of the best summers in the UK that I can remember over the last ten years or so. Hopefully you all managed to enjoy it as much as me. I love the heat and the long summer days, the al fresco dining, eating salads and getting into that skimpy bikini, wearing summer dresses and going on holidays. When the holiday season was over, I had to book another one fairly quickly so that I had something to look forward to. So I will be going to Gran Canaria in December to hopefully catch some more sun. I love the Canaries as it’s not too far. I don’t like flying too much, especially if there’s turbulence. I prefer to keep my feet firmly on the ground!
I’ve been working at NRAS now for exactly thirteen months. And considering we recently had Friday 13th in 2013 and that I live at number 13 it all comes together. I work as an administrator/receptionist and am the first point of contact for many of you, unless at lunch or rearranging the store room. Talking of my duties here, they include a vast variety of tasks like dealing with almost everybody who comes to visit as well as workman, handyman, postman, delivery guys, courier guys and much more! I love the variety and no one day is the same. I had loads of fun at the NRAS Summer Concert back in July where I was selling ice-cream with my colleague Victoria. Well, until we sold out!
Member’s day in Solihull was really good and it was so nice to see members and non-members alike. I managed to talk to so many of you and hear all your lovely stories. I also loved the fact that there was a lot of choice of finger food and some of the fillings were amazing. You can tell I love food, especially if someone else made it for me. My man cannot cook so any opportunity I get is grabbed with both hands. My husband's grandma still alive in that area and I wanted to visit her too since she is 100 and we don’t often go to visit her, but the day started early for us and we just wanted to get back home afterwards. Thanks to Tracey who loves driving.
