My take on COVID

Devil’s advocado ……………….yes my silly pun

I take decisions on my life for me and not others

I know my illness and my life, no one on here does in the same way

I know my money, my shops, my hospital and my family health.

We are all here for some of the same reasons RA/RD but with all of us different add-ons

However we could all give advice BUT we ALL need to read the ones that matter

NHS/GOV.UK/NRAS

Or your GP service or somewhere YOU trust then stick to it and don't overdo the research or you will get in a mess.

Local papers/media for all and google will probably make you anxious so DON’T read it, if you can’t switch off the information being given, as possibly wrong or just too much.

KEEP it simple again just read NHS/GOV.UK/NRAS sites

However when looking at these sites they might not answer EVERY question for every person, as this is a pandemic and they have to trust us to do what is RIGHT for us as we know what we have and how our health is.

They are trying hard to keep the country going so every question can’t be answered as this list would be endless.

Yes it might mean strict social distancing that we do not work or see anyone and this can be lonely but getting covid could mean a lot worse, if badly affected PLUS you can get better too. If you have to go to the shops as no one can for you, think about what you really need and be ready to change.

So go garden/read/write/ anything just anything to keep you safe and grounded and then we can come out of this hopefully sane and in a better place as a World.

I thought long and hard about posting this as I am not doing it to cause offence but there is a lot of repeat going on and we have a LONG way to go on COVID.

I think I will switch off NRAS..............just in case

Love Dee x

You are right in one you say. We need to stay as grounded as we can. NRAS has been great at all the information they have and continue to provide. x

Stephen Fry made some good comments and sound advice on tv this am with regard to listening to and looking on line at everything out there .

in reply toThingybob

I will look this up. I have 2 immediate family with bi polar and though grounded I can see some more anxiety in them the past week and most due to reading too much and not putting some blinkers on.

Good advice Deeb, I’ve stopped reading the latest hysteria online, on TV and in newspapers. It only makes you feel stressed.

So many presenters on TV these days seem to want to make a name for themselves by being super incisive interviewers and rabbiting on endlessly. Not only that there are reporters travelling in and out of infected zones abroad. It’s ridiculous. I know the situation is depressing but constant speculation as well as gloom and doom isn’t helping,

Considering the images of people crowding into beaches, parks and markets at the moment obviously the constant barrage of information is not reaching certain groups of the public - they just think it’s like flu. Idiots!

These days I just watch Boris and his scientists at tea time, we self isolate to save the NHS, wash our hands and that’s it.
