I recall a post regarding the 3's: 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months being strangely tough. For me, day 33 also proved to be strangely tough.
This whole week has been insane. I lost out on my dream job to a candidate who frankly couldn't be beat. I was super bummed but given her credentials and experience, also honored that I was considered in the same pool as her. But then two days later I got an offer for another great position that I had long since given up on. And somewhere in the middle, day 33 was really giving me a test.
Still is. And I know that I won't smoke, not a doubt in my mind, but damn I'm expending a lot of energy thinking about it.
And something weird. Now that I quit smoking, I run slower than I did when I still smoked. Significantly slower. Like I went from 8:45 per mile to 10:00 per mile. This makes no sense to me. Ugh.
Stay strong peeps.

The running being slower is likely to be due to your body working extremely hard to rewire, repair and recover. This will most definitely improve and you will start to reap the benefits soon. Patience is needed and what I didn't have or understand in the early days of my journey. I expected to be as fit as a fiddle as soon as I stopped!!
Hey Ladyinthelake, well done on your new position. I love how generous spirited you are to the woman who got the other job.My theory about the slow running is that you used to be racing to get back for a ciggie, and now you are a little more reflective. Add a mile to you route, should sort it!
