I'm finally ready

After some failed starts, I think I'm finally ready for the full quit. I scheduled a trip with a non-smoking friend to kick off first 5 days, but I notoriously fail when I get home. This time, I made it and haven't even been tempted. Tomorrow marks Day #8 and I feel it in my gut - this is the quit that lasts a lifetime.

Wooohoo. That is so good. Well done to you. First week and one day done.

When we have returned to smoking before, it is really hard to try again. I had tried and failed so often that I approached it this time with the deepest pessimism. But actually here I am, not smoking. Feels good.

I know we should be kind to each other and ourselves, but 1 of the things that keeps me going is the response of my friend when I told her I had stopped. She more or less said Hallelujah, what took you so long, no one with any sense smokes any more!

And of course, she is right.

Love your name, why though?
