So although I am away with the family skiing I just had to post to mark the milestone of getting  7 days into my quit. Very smug

Thanks guys. This forum is really helpful. The strange thing is that I still feel like a smoker who hasn't smoked for a week rather than a non-smoker. When people leave to go outside for a fag there is still a big part of me that wants to go with them. I am really glad that I don't a) because it seems rude on everyone else, b) because it is often cold and wet outside and c) because they stink when they get back in. Just looking forward to the day when I don't feel any desire to join them. Still very pleased to have got the first week out of the way

Hey Fordy, it is completly normal the feelings of loss you are having but you have a good mindset to get through it.    Just take one day / week at a time, you will get there, it does take time though.....
