The beginning of the end?

Well, there's the first month under my ever-widening belt. I'm eating like a pig, occasionally freaking out, occasionally down, but I haven't had a cigarette for 31 days and I'm proud of myself for that, as any body else should be at this stage.

That said, I'm not resting on my laurels. I've been here three or four times before, and I've caved in, so I know there's still a long way to go before I can consider myself a non-smoker. I also know from experience that it gets easier from here on so let's see how far I can go....

To quote a famous historical smoker, "...this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Maybe I'm at my El Alamein?

Rowens, You're a saint! You're always around to lend a hand and give encouragement. Thanks very much.

It's not the beginning of the end, it's the starting of a new YOU!!!!

Me thinks this new guy smells better :-)

Ha ha! Cheers mmaya. Certainly feels a bit different this time around. Feeling any better?

Yeah dude, once I'm not talking...as soon as I try to talk it starts.

Gp said even if it's just viral, I have a nasty dose therefore either way it's going to take at least 2 weeks to go.

Thanks for asking.

Nozmo, you are here for as long as me, for me you are actually celebrating over 4 months now.

Never underestimate the power of the mind, did you ever hear the - dress for the job you want, not for the job you have!?

Celebrate your 4 months because some of us have more struggles than others but the fact is: you are not smoking for 4 months.

You may pls start believing in yourself a bit now yeah?! Xxx

Well I hope you get rid of it and feel a LOT better soon.

I would LOVE to say I'm celebrating 4 months but that will have to wait. This is the way I need to do it. I started smoking "the odd one" on the 18th Dec and I was pretty quickly onto 15-20 a day until the 3rd Jan. That's a pretty big lapse.

I need to do it honestly, with myself and the forum, or it will lose its meaning and I'll just end up thinking it's acceptable to have a smoke every now and then. Does that make sense?

Thanks for looking out for me mmaya; I appreciate it!

Very well posted Nozmo and very honest of you especially the part "or it will lose its meaning and I'll just end up thinking it's acceptable to have a smoke every now and then".

I really feel you have this now, keep it up!
