I'm new too!

Howdy :)

I've already plunged in to the week two forum, hadn't spotted this thread!

I'm on day 9, cold nut-loaf (I'm a vegetarian, no turkey for me). I started my quit the day I went to Venice for the weekend with my lovely man - and while the complete change in routine really helped, OH MY GOODNESS the Italians like their fags! Everywhere we went people were smoking...but I didn't join them and I'm so pleased with myself.

Since we got back I've got through most of my main danger-zones unscathed - having a day off work to study, driving on my own, going to the shop, etc etc. I've found a quitting app that's really helped, and I've lurked on here for a while reading all your success stories and support. Thought it was time I joined in.

Thanks for having me, and lets party. I've made cake :D

  • Hi Incy, lovely to have you here, you have done really well to start your quit in Italy, you are quite right they really do love their tabs... Must of been pretty difficult... How are u finding cold nutloaf? Also (and most importantly IMO) what cake have you bought to the party :p

  • Donna - first of all I love your signature! (I want to add one to my posts - but I don't know how...help?!)

The nut loaf's working for me, it's actually quite tasty after the first few days.

And I've made Peter Pan cake - it's magic it can be any type of cake you like (even carrot cake, which imo is not a real cake. It's a fake.)

  • Hiya, if you click top right where ur name is and then click on user settings, then account, if you scroll down you will see tick boxes for various things click on edit signature and write you post then save, not sure if this facility works on phones and tablets as yet it may only be on laptops, by the way loving the PP cake mine will be chocolate fudge AND lemon drizzle ;) x

  • Thank you so much! now to think of a witty yet motivational line. Hmmmm.

Mine's ginger, but might join you in a spot of lemon drizzle too!

  • Hiya Incy, think I should have joined week 2 forum too as on day 10 but not used to using online forums. I wanted to know about to add a quote too so thanks for asking ha. Any help from anyone on the use of threads/ forum would be great, I will find way round but may do the odd silly think along the way.

Anyway hi and well done on your quit so far.

  • Hello AnnMarie - we're nearly at the same point then! Come on over to week two, too :) I haven't used many forums..fora? forae? and I'm always the one who has to ask how to do everything so we're a good pair.

Hope you've been having a good day with the quit :)

  • Well done, week 2 passes much quicker than week 1, I'm nearly at end of week 3 which has been the quickest do far, minute by minute you can do this x

And thanks Jess - that made me laugh coz I've just posted in the two-weeks room about how much faster time's going! Well done on your nearly-three-weeks! x

  • Oooh how did my last two posts get melded then?! See AnnMarie, I'm rubbish at all this :P

  • Hi incy-wincy. I'm a vegetarian, too (32 years, man and boy!). Congratulations on going cold-nutcutlet. I've always been a relative wimp in my quits and opted for Champix.

  • Woohoo, a fellow lentil-lover! Hi Graham :)

I was hoping that cold-nutthings would be quicker than any form of replacement...I'm impatient see! So far it's doing the job. I tried patches once, they just made me feel weird.

How's your quit Graham? Best wishes x

  • Mine's going ok, IncyWincy - coming up to 5 and a half months so far. I haven't tried cold ahem before. Glad it's going well for you so far.

  • 5 and a half months is GREAT, well done :)
