Hey, whatever it takes to get you there is all good! :p

One day, in fact a year from now, you won't care how you got free and made the Penthouse, just that you made it.

Don't sit and think about fags, occupy your mind and hands. Come and post on here, find something to do, have a shower or bath, anything, just distract yourself :)

Get yourself a really addictive game for your phone.

Great choice, these other methods are, shall we say a little less harsh, it's also great,as it does indeed take a while for the hand to mouth thing, to pass.

Hold tight don't let go, get your patch gum what ever just please don't smoke.

Of course this is a addiction , and with in that it's sure going to take time to break.

But can do this you can.

We all have different ways of quitting...different methods. There is no one size fits all method that works for everyone.

What I'm trying to say is that quitting is all that matters. How you quit? Irrelevant. Whatever works for you, go for it and stick with it.

Enjoy! :)

You could always get a cheapo e-fag for when the worst cravings strike.

Whilst any form of NRT is better than smoking, an Ecig is the last thing I would recommend.

Outside of the psychological addiction, you have the nicotine addiction and the physical addiction (hand to mouth).

An Ecig maintains all three in my opinion, at least all the other forms of NRT break the hand to mouth addiction first, then you can concentrate on the nicotine addiction and the psychological addiction. Of course, if you can nail the psychological addiction early, the quit will just fall into place anyway.

Just my opinion of Ecigs, I'm sure others will have a different point of view.

My opinion does differ somewhat. It was thanks to vaping that I am where I'm at in my quit. I know from past experience for absolute certainty, had I tried CT I would be smoking right now. Had I used NRT I would be smoking right now. My GP made it clear to me more than a year ago that my personality was not suitable for use of Champix, he felt I would have been vulnerable to suicidal moods had I used it.

I agree that nicotine is addictive, but sometimes I sense a far more important truth is being overlooked when people talk about nicotine being evil and all that. It is not the nicotine which kills smokers, it is the tar, and the other 4000+ chemical nasties in tobacco smoke which do the real damage. If we are going to demonise nicotine totally then we should quit eating potatoes and cauliflower and tomatoes, since they have nicotine in them.

Bottom line is, I am thankful that e-cigs were around when I wanted to quit, else I'd b smoking today. Like. Said in a previous post, we all have our own methods...the method matters not, the quitting tobacco does.

I feel your pain, well done you for buying the patches and not fags on your trip out. That takes will power! An hour at a time, just no fags for the next hour. You know you can do an hour! X

Well done for not caving, I've taken to going for walks in afternoon, plug in ipod headphone s on and off I go for at least an hour bracing sea air I love it x whereas before I would have sat in house smoking, feeling lethargic, with a headache now no headache for days and feel motivated and that's only 15 days x

Has anyone thought of knitting? that's actually what I have done on the first weeks, certainly the first days ...haven't done much the last week, I must be in a better place, but I did a lot of knitting, my son's new scarf is almost ready LOL just to add that I haven't knitted anything since I was in school 30 years ago LOL it does work, if anyone wants to give it a go.

...we will have new Jumpers for next winter :))))))
