So on day 5, used patches for 1st couple of days, but decided I was just prolonging the agony of going nicotine free so decided to go CT, yesterday and today, well am really struggling today as much as I don't want to have a smoke, the thought is in my head constantly help
Can feel my resolve going: So on day 5, used... - No Smoking Day
Can feel my resolve going
Ahh bless you
It will get easier I promise you
You need to keep your mind and hands busy breaking up the hours into segments and keep telling your smoking head that you will have a smoke in an hour and carry on repeating that phrase every time you get a crave if you can go and have a long bath or go for a walk
You can do this posting on here first is the first step and shows you don't really want to go back to that habit
Writing a list of reasons for quitting will help and writing a list of all the treats your going to buy with the money you are saving to will inspire you to
Onwards and upwards is the only way to go
I did cold turkey. I'd say it's about 3-4 days of feeling a bit rubbish and then after that it gets easier and easier.
Most of the battle is in your head. If you can just accept that smoking is rubbish and terrible for your health, after those first few days of feeling a bit crap, it really does just get easier every day.
Stick in there.
I went CT this time after 5 days patches, and I had the same thought process, to get the nicotine out of the way. I'm glad i did as I have done 10/12 weeks before on patches and its been miserable to come off them and a fail to get beyond that.
Its not great early doors but keep the faith and we all know its so the right thing to do
Best wishes Jess
Haven't cracked feel a bit better watched Ant and Dec made me laugh, not craving one at all yet, will see how tomorrow goes, forecast heavy snow here so might be confined to house, as got to go down a huge hill to get into town. Will see how tomorrow goes, will be 3rd day nicotine free but if I feel as if I'm struggling might put patch on. My last unsuccessful quit I would have caved in by now and started smoking again. Tomorrow can only be better right day 6
Good for you Jess
If you feel the need for NRT, do it a million times better than fagging it, if not ride the wave and we will see you on the other side Tomorrows another day !
So glad to here you have gotten through the day
Well done
Tomorrow is another day
Onwards and upwards is the only way to go
Good to hear you battled through it and if possible try and go cold turkey permanently now you've started. It's uncomfortable but beatable if you give it time.
That said, if you really, really think you will cave in and smoke, stick a patch on instead, infinitely better than lighting up
You've done really well today, if you can do it today, you can do it every day
Hello, I do hope your quit is still intact , I can honestly say it will become easier, just keep going, it s mighty hard to quit especially in the first couple of weeks or so, however I can say the longer your quit, the weaker the crave.
Please just keep going, your body will thank you,
