There's a horrid cold doing the rounds- I've had it and so has Debbie and a few of the other regulars- and it's probably that which is giving you a cough at the moment. As for the weight, it'll come off when the time is right. Try not to worry about it at the moment- your quit is your priority.
You're doing fantasically well by the way.
I suggest you treat yourself to something (not food!) and give yourself a big pat on the back.
I'm just going to reiterate what everyone else is saying and agree that the quit is more important. You'll have a much better chance of shedding those pounds with a healthy heart and respiratory system and getting trimmer than ever before! You'd have to put on 5 stone for the health risks of the weight to be as bad as smoking so just remember you're still doing yourself a favour. x
I've had a word with myself, and feel much better now :D.
Went for a run with the dogs and then went and rode my horse and realised that seven weeks ago I couldn't have done that level of exercise! So what if I've gained a few pounds? The more I don't smoke the more I can do and the weight will come off.
Hi Fi, as the others have said gaining weight is a pain when quitting but the better skin and hair clear whites of eyes and fresh smelling clothes and car far outweighs the weight gain, get the quit really stable then try and diet,it's hard to do both at once xx
