I think sometimes, when we stop smoking, we stop other things too without even realising. Make sure you are doing all the things you used to do, just without smoking. On one quit I got quite depressed but, I think it was because I kind of stopped everything.
Do things that are uplifting to you, watch a movie, exercise, put on some tunes and dance...something that you know would raise your spirits.
Well done for getting right back to it. It's very easy to let a slip become a mudslide, much harder to catch yourself and keep going.
I need to get out of this stop / start mentality and make this the quit that sticks. I am DESPERATE to stay quit but when the going gets tough I cave in quite easily.
Tell you what, I think the idea of you & Mina becoming quit buddies is a very good one. It might just give you both the additional incentive and support you need to stay quit.
Either way, well done for picking yourself up, dusting yourself down and going forth. I shall hope that this week proves to be a less difficult week for you.
Melby it's good you get straight back to the forum. You just need to learn from past quits where your going wrong and be prepared.I know that people saying not one puff, but when the craves hit all good intentions go out window.
I was always a serial quitter, saying one day I would get there, but I was kidding myself so I quit and ( touch wood) Iv stayed quit.
If I can anyone can......never give up trying, you will make it x
I have not read all previous posts - but am sure they are all encouraging. The final 'push' is up to you. Get into the mindset and everything will click into place. It is not easy, but then, when something requires determination, did you remotely think it would be?!
You owe it to yourself. You are here because you KNOW the Right Thing is to stop smoking - for a multiple of reasons, of which, most importantly, is your health. Just take a day at a time. Be proud of your progress because it is an achievement.
I sincerely hope you prevail. Good luck. Be strong
