Ok so now i have my patches and gum! I'm really quite impressed i feel so much more relaxed now, cravings aren't too strong and i haven't even reached for my e-cig since wednesday morning! started with gum last night and put on my patch 2 hours ago.. i know still early days but i'm feeling so much confident today. But is it normal to have a bit of itching where my patch is?

Hiya Lulu
Welcome back, it's fab to see you here and already sounding positive!!
No e-cig since Wednesday is flipping good as well Does that make you on day 3?
Getting a bit of an itch is normal when you put the patch on, sometimes with me I get it a bit more than others - yesterday was annoying but today I'm just aware that it's there if that makes sense?
Anyway, take it gently, post here as much as you like and we'll all help you xx

Hey Gemma, well heres the thing i had 1 cigarette wednesday evening and 1 cigarette yesterday afternoon as i only brought the patches last night after work, but the way i see it its better than smoking 8 or more a day as i used to but i went without cigarettes for hours. I have now been nicotine free for 12 hours and 24 mins lol not long but first thing i usually do is have a fag as soon as i get out of bed but as i have my patch and gum today i have not thought about them at all i was up at 6am due to my little pup bouncing on my head lol i have the kick smoking app which as helped loads it also times my cravings and its true the cravings only last 3 minutes!

I think that's absolutely brilliant!!
It shows you really want this quit and you've obviously got some flipping good will power!!
Quitting smoking is mostly an in the mind thing, and yours is obviously in the right place

That's a fab start
Having an app is brilliant too, especilly the bit where it tells you how much extra money you've got!!
Lol, and who needs an alarm when you've got a pet

Thanks yeah pretty good start lets see how it goes! but i'm determined not to have a ciggie today. The app was a great idea and it was free. The milestones are a great feature.
Lulu, wave the patch around for about a minute and it won't itch.

Oh thanks Una i'll remember that tomoz morning.
Lulu, I am allergic to the patch and will get welts from wearing them. When I successfully quit 17 months ago, I started out with a lower patch then was recommended. I should of started with the 21mg as I was smoked 3 packs a day but started on the 14 mg and still had problems. After a week or so ( I don't remember), I took off the patch and went CT. 17 months, 25 days later I am still smoke free. I still get the occasional urge for one but can ignore it very easy....
Good luck on your quit and remember, a bunch of great people are here to help you...ppat

Have you noticed they smell fishy yet?
That's when I realised my sense of smell was getting better

Yes i have! lol weird....sorry for the late reply i've been busy. Day 1 and 2 went great but i had a cigarette today because i did not have my patch on! I'm off on holiday tomoz so i need the NRT and have 4 patches left as it was a 1 week supply! one of them decided to slip off of my arm so i wasted one of them! still waiting for my quit kit too! not going well at all but hopefully i'll be back on track tomoz. fingers crossed.

Aww, we've all had blips hun, don't worry!!
I found they stick better on my ribcage - basically just under where my bra goes because they were forever peeling off on my arm
Can you get some gum or extra patches from the supermarket before you go on tomorrow?
Hope you have a fab time!!
