It could be you: Thread removed - No Smoking Day
It could be you
Very intriguing
Go on... don't leave us in suspense!
Egg posted a pic of himself in speedos running along the beach. with his six pack, flawless skin and the sun reflecting off his white teeth. And a load of sexy women chasing him.
This is what could happen when u give up smokin.
I think he got embrassed and took it down x
This is the only six pack you'll find around here missus...
But on a different note, I wrote the original thread then decided it was a sanctimonious load of old twattery, even by my own standards:o:o, so I deleted it:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Well as it's been pretty quiet in here of late I thought I'd try to resurrect this thread - just for lottery playing smokers:D
I deleted this when I first posted it as it just came across all wrong - but it's a point that I think is worth airing as I keep thinking about it.
So. Here we have it - 'it could be you', take two:D.
It could be you - our wonderful British lottery advertising strap-line for years. The odds of winning the jackpot are around fourteen million to one. But we play it because someone's bound to win. One in fourteen million, and we hope it could be us.
Smoking - a one in four chance that it will directly result in a premature death. But people keep smoking assuming it won't be them. One in four, and they hope it won't be them.
Hoping you'll win a one in fourteen million bet, and at the same time hoping you'll lose a one in four bet, has got to be MADNESS:eek::eek: - but that's the madness of addiction.
As a smoker, I couldn't rationalise thoughts like this. I would brush them aside, bury my head in the sand, and buy my next lottery ticket.
My greatest sadness in posting this, and one reason I removed it originally, is that I know a 'shock tactics' approach doesn't work - but even so, let's shout it out, smoking is MAD, MAD, MAD :confused::confused:
