Just my 2p but I would make people smoke outside! Or at the very least hanging out the door/window. Yes it's something you used to do - the key words being 'used to' - you don't anymore so others should respect that.
My other half goes outside now, unless it's the middle of the night and he can't sleep, in which case it's in the lounge, door closed + window open.
My response to unhelpful people asking 'why did you give up' was quite blunt: I DON'T WANT TO DIE. Usually shut them up
Just seems like a daft question to me - everyone knows WHY we should quit - we just spend a lot of time justifying why we don't or didn't.
Are you sure your friend didn't mean what gave you the impetus to quit.
:confused::confused:
I think that's what HE (male friend) was getting at really Andy. I thought after it was as if he justifying smoking - hey how enjoyable this is :eek: - so why stop ??
I think we all have to come to the decision in our own way, in our own time, and no matter how many times non-smokers said to me 'You really should stop' that didn't even make me consider it.
I am so pleased I stopped, I will NEVER smoke again, the benefits of not smoking are huge and people smoking near me really doesn't bother me at all (I thought that would be difficult).
We are all doing well, with ups and downs of course, but we are doing it.
