Hi All!

Tomorrow is my quit date, I am going to try cold turkey so i don't envy those around me! I quit for 2years when i found out i was having my son...but 5yrs on i am back on 20 a day (though always in the garden...sometimes with a brolly!!!) So this time i am quitting for a few reasons, my son, for me, to prove i can! for financial and health reasons (my mum has had two strokes because of smoking, she is only 49!) and because i have just got engaged and don't want to be smoking in my wedding dress!!!...actually there are so many reasons for me to quit and very few reasons to stay smoking!!!! so wish me luck! will appreciate any advice or support! xx

Very good luck to you. I honestly hope you achieve your goals. Having had a long quit previously, you have an idea of what to expect - and you have some very good reasons in your head.

Go for it.

Best of luck to you, and those around you :D

Exercise is always a good way of letting off steam, punching pillows (or a punch bag if you've access to one) is also a good idea!

cheers

Nic

Go for it Helen.

It doesn't have to be so bad...Read up about having some stategies ready for when the crave hits..lLots of links on the 'tips' section...and the more you know the easier it will be.

You CAN do it. Nic cannot stop you. The habit has the power you are prepared to give it!

It's great that you're stopping!

Bill x:)

Good luck pal! One of the main things that have stopped me from smoking today is the thought of having to prepare my head for day one of quitting again, I just don't want to have to go down that road again. So you stick with it and look forward to the happiest day of your life approaching. Take it from one who has plunged over 35 years of roll-ups into his lungs. I feel really lucky to have escaped some of the destruction which has killed and debilitated many of my family and friends over the years. Just keep your targets daily and before you know it, many smoke free weeks will pass.
