Hi all,

Just want to know what you have all been doing whilst trying quitting smoking?

Quit date 1/1/12

Me well I've put on 7lb, walked round asda and b&q at silly o'clock, decorated the hallway and joined the gym (last wednesday) and been swimming 4 times.

Still finding some days tough but getting there.

I have plenty to keep me busy. I have 2 dogs, just got 2 love birds and I play the Accordion (sort of, taking lessons). So, I do stay busy....ppat

Hi Tracey, ive walked the streets, attempted to kick lamp posts, gone mental with myself got grumpy and lost my temper with my work collegues, so not much really.

Im on day 27, god knows how i got here because i really dont know. it must be one day at a time. it is getting easier, im so glad i went cold turkey and more than ever im so glad i join here because this place has kept me sane.

So welcome to the place were we are all in the same boat, join us whenever you feel like it, theres some really good people on here who will help you through the low times and congratulate you on the high times.

Above all remember the quit Moto N.O.P.E (not one puff ever) it really is the only way, keep that in the front of your mind in desparate times and it will help. Oh and hugs are free on here you only need to log on and we will help.

good luck on your journey, we will help you.

Si

Havnt done much really lol walked a lot the first 2 days, eaten more healthy to keep myself healthy inside, and just generally carried on life much the same apart from much more relaxed as I'm not needing a fix every hour. I havnt put on a pound, eating to cure cravings hasn't affected me, to cure a craving all I did was let it happen and watch it melt away lol

Hi Tracy,

I love this thread.. I like to know what people do with there time LOL.. Im just nosey I guess.

I am loving every minute of my quit.. I really dont know how in the world I found the time to smoke because I find there is not enough hours in the day to achieve everything I want to.

I bake (because I love the smell of bread or cookies/banana bread etc throughout the house), my house is immaculately clean, lawn is nice and green and mowed. My children have been getting so much attention from me and I have been spending alot of time at the beach and the park just enjoying life..

I live in Queensland, Australia, so the weather is just beaufiful this time of year to be enjoying the great outdoors.

Best wishes to everyone on their quit...

:)Well Tracy ive not been picking in between meals, but for some unknown reason completely lost my appetite, so Dr put me on Vitamin & mineral tablet. I have been on a few nature walks, and just try and eat lovely Veg and fruit, and sip water, very refreshing.

Oh god boo I'm drooling. I am definitely doing this at the week-end and will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

Can I have the curry one too :o

Thanks boo. All is going well with the quit. It was worth all those months of disappointment to get here x x

curry i make with either chicken or beef

250g chicken or beef

2 tablespoon of oil [i use olive oil]

1 onion

1 clove of garlic

1 tablespoon curry powder

1 tablespoon flour

1 stock cube

125ml boiled water

1 can of chopped tomatoes

salt and pepper [optional]

cube meat heat oil in large saucepan and brown meat then remove meat and add onion to the oil and crushed garlic cook until soft add curry powder cook gently for 2 mins

crumble stock cube and add boiled water

add flour to the curry/onion mixture stir in then add the stock mix well bring to the boil add meat and tomatoes

the recipe book says to simmer for 20 mins or until tender but what i do is put in the slow cooker for 6-7 hours if you have one and if you dont i urge u to get one i love mine

do you like cooking karri, i absolutely love it cooking from scatch we have no processed foods these days i make big batches and freeze lots so it easy on a busy day maybe we should start a recipe thread

Boo I love food but my cooking skills are really limited. I have had a cooker in the house all my life and people would be in awe of how clean my oven was. It was clean because I never used it

I can do chilli, spaghetti Bol and mince and dumplings. All are made from packets and jars. I would love to be able to cook and i have decided this will be my new hobby. It will shock you to the core when I tell you I cooked my kids first main meal four years ago. Until that point we ate in restaurants every night because I was so rubbish.

I would love a recipe thread. More than anything I would love to learn how to cook from scratch.

The curry is being done Saturday night. Just a quick question though. What make and strength of curry powder and what make and flavour of stock cube :o

i never used to cook until about 4/5 years ago jamie oliver is my hero watched alot of his stuff and it inspired me the more u do it the better u get i found

i use asda [i work there so bit bias lol] own brand mild curry powder and stock cube chicken for chicken, beef for beef and veg would be fine if its all u have in the house

its to your own taste i do it mild for the kids

i am gonna start a recipe thread save hyjacking this thread as i have a few other recipes i have made up and they have turned out good and i would love to add other peoples ideas to my cooking
