Yippeee smoke free again, feeling happy!!??

Well hello wonderful people. Ok so day 1, thought i'd give you an update. So far no cravings, i'm cold turkey & have basically had a packet of chewing gum by my side the whole time.

I think the more times you quit and the more you get to know about our addiction it may become a tiny, weeny bit easier?? Saying that, watch this space i'll probably be pulling my hair out when my little ones are home!

Hope we are all fab, & hi Kat, thanks for support & encouragement. This site is so amazing i have told everyone i know about it. Ok log back in soon xxxx p.s oh & reading my posts from last summer have made me realise i did quit & i can quit again........

  • YAY fab you've got off to a good start hun :)

Gum really helps, but wow I'm in awe of you going cold turkey!!

Think you're right, as you've done it before you do know what works, what doesn't and what to expect!! Know that's how I feel this time round.

This will be the one for you, you *can* do it!! xx

  • Hi, pleased to meet you :)

Like you say, you've quit before so you will quit now and you will make it stick!

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Lady,

    Good to meet you :)

If you made it to 4 months last time you can certainly go the distance. Really glad you're back on the waggon. :D

  • Hi lady,

Best of luck with ur quit your right it's blinking hard! Sure u will succeed this time tho :)Xx

  • Thanks guys. I realised so much about quitting last time i did it. For instance without smoking or popping out for a fag, i'm still me. Smoking does not define who iam, it was just a habit that i was so routinely used to doing that i just went along with the flow.

I am ready for this new journey, god knows the last 6 months have just been so crazy, but i'm hoping by eradicating smoking out of my life i can truely understand more about myself and be just me, Kim! X:)

  • Hi max, its so nice to be back amoungst you guys, really helps. Hope you are well xx

  • Hey Kim, hope you're doing ok today, very impressed with you tackling this head on equipped simply with a pack of gum!:eek::D

    ...and a quit buddy, Kat!

A real, physical one too :D

I think Kim & Lyds are lifers now.

    Which will be AMAZING!!!

  • Hey, yep gum is all. Although aswell as just myself quitting, my mum (she also quit with me last time) my best friend lyds (she joined site today) and her partner too. So we have each other at the end of a phone too which is great.

Cant believe how well today has gone. I seriously haven't had one craving, any thoughts of smoking have just not entered my mind. Saying that i am very aware of the evil nico demon that sometimes likes to mess up my thought process but let me tell you im more than ready to face him & laugh in the face of smoking, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!! Bring on day 2 x

    That's just brilliant!!

Getting off to a flier is half the battle - so here's hoping your quit is a good easy one!!

And with some quit buddies and us, you've got loads of support - oooh and it's fab you've got Lyds ot join as well :D

  • Heyyyy...great to see you back :D

  • You can do it!

    Hi Lady

I did it cold turkey (3months ago after 40+years and was smoking near to 40 a day). Not easy, as you expected. But get into the right mindset, stay strong and you will pull through. I feel for you because the first week is awful, but it really does get better. Promise! I hope to God, I never relapse because I do not want to go through the initial couple of weeks again - that was a motivation in itself.

Good luck, be strong. Believe in yourself, you are made of more sterner stuff than you know!
