Think I spend the whole night dreaming of me debating with myself whether to smoke or not, it was very aggravating but at the same time I'm glad it was just a dream!
Aww nicodemon you must die!!
My quit before this was a cold turkey quit and to be honest it seemed a bit easier than this one. The patches are causing me headaches and crazy dreams (even though I take it off at 9pm) so I'm thinking of coming off them or even moving onto a lower dose but don't want to tempt fate cos it's only coming up to day 5, any thoughts??

I would say leave them on. I am also in the 21grams dose and 16 hour one (the new ones that I bought are 25grams so not sure if you have those, and they make a difference) but I must say that I have slept better than I did before (must be the not drinking). I think it is better a few sleepless nights than the temptation again, especially when the weekend is looming

Hiya Mrs M
How much were you smoking before you quit? 'cos you might be having too high a dose on the patches if you're getting bad side effects. Was smoking a bit more than a pack a day  by the time I stopped so didn't get anything apart from the nightmares when I was on them.
Just a thought, but if you buy a box of Step 2 ones, try one of them and see? You'll still have the Step 1 if you get crave city so you could change back then.
Definitely don't do anything you fel might risk your quit though
Ooh and are you taking anything else like lozenges or gum? 'cos that could overdose you!!
Oh and something else, are you drinking enough water? Don't know about you but after a fag I always had a drink 'cos it made my mouth feel nasty.
I have no experience of patches, so probably shouldn't comment, but if your last quit was CT and seemed easier, it has to be considered. I managed to quit CT but held onto this forum like glue...but like I said, I have no idea what patches add to a quit as I've never tried them. Obviously they have to go sometime but I don't know the routines.
Either way you sound determined; in the longer term (as far as I like to look ahead anyway!) if you get to Monday, as the weekends seem to worry you a bit, the psychological boost would be huge....
I had all those problems and I used Champix so maybe its just to do with not smoking I spent first week or two on painkillers and WATER x
Nicotine is a powerful stimulant so it is to do with not smoking - and your body clearing all the c**p out of course!!
Even on NRT it notices. I used to hop out of bed and stand outside the kitchen door first thing (yes sad I know) for a fag or 2 if I felt really groggy and stopping that even with patch and gum was tough. I moaned on here about missing the kickstart. Smoking delivers the nicotine very directly and in one burst into your blood - a 2-3 minute spell per fag - while patches are designed to release it through your skin over 24h.
So much for my dry weekend, out at my uncles birthday party decided to have some wine. I just thought if I don't want to smoke then I don't smoke, drink or not.
Ok I'm having a few moments but have my patch on and my nicotine gum but most of all my skin looks goods, I smell lovely lol and my teeth are lovely and white!!

How you doing Franky?
That's good to hear. Let knowing how difficult it is to begin the quit deter you if you ever feel you are caving. I'm doing well today. It may sound odd to count cravings but I have honestly only had two today so that's got to be good. I'm just about over this cold although still a little bunged up. I'm really focussing on my diet now (started today:D) as I would like to drop a few pounds for an upcoming event.
