Just starting day 2 of no smoking. I cant believe i havent even had a sniff of a cig. I had several dodgy moments yesterday but still not enough to light one up.
I keep reminding myself of the horrid stale smoke smell, the early morning cough, the breathlessness, standing outside in the freezing cold and snow or rain and the list goes on.
And also of the benefits of not smoking. Hopefully lower blood pressure, not the whooshing in my ears after my morning fag, being able to breath easier, walk up a hill without being out of breath, not having to pretend to my kids i dont smoke, not having my clothes (and my breath) stinking so basically being healthier.
My patch is on already and im ready to fight the nicotine monster today. I know its early days yet and im taking it hour by hour but i will quit.
Hope everyone has a good day today.

Must admit i have got the munchies on a bit. Think of a swarm of locusts in the kitchen cupboards haha. BUT no cigs.
Will soon be bedtime
at this rate i will be in bed by 8pm every night just to remove temptation
Hi Mabsky
You're doing great so far and this is the tough bit - it will get heaps easier soon!!
Don't worry about the munchies yet, anything that takes your mind off the death sticks is good!!
Oh and being sleepy is normal, you're used to having a lot of nicotine in your blood (and delivered far quicker than any NRT apart from e-cigs) and it's a powerful stimulant so suddenly withdrawing it is a heck of a shock, plus your body starts recovering from all the muck that's been going into it, but that eases too
Thanks for the support. Done really well today so far. Eaten my weight in fruit :D and the odd chocolate biscuit though and despite hubbie smoking i havent been tempted.
Had a few pieces of gum wearing my patch but im really pleased with myself today. I cant seem to get on with my inhalator.
Getting a few withdrawals though. Ie headache, sleepyness, im grinding my teeth, obviously eating anything that stands still for more than 1 second
Going to have a nice long bath after tea which will break up the evening.
Hi all, just finished day 2. Thank Christ it's over. Actually not been toooo bad, there were a few moments when I could have cracked, but By curling up on the sofa and screaming silently I got through it . Hope you are all doing well. Love jonno
