Well the Dr just phoned me after giving blood this morning, to say that yes I now have diabetes.
It is a side effect listed on the Champix packet, and I'm pretty sure it is the Champix that gave it to me, as I never had any symptoms before taking the tablets, but guess there's no way to prove it.

Oh god Jane..... don't know what to say about that? Really sorry to hear that. The doctor can help you control it.
At least now you have found out what was wrong and it can be treated, that is a good thing. Also I can tell that you are a really strong girl too so that will help.
Thanks both, I knew the tiredness I had been experiencing was way more than just the Champix, at least I have a diagnosis and yes it is manageable, I have to go back Monday morning to discuss. My father has it so he will be able to help me.
At least I don't smoke, yeehaa, if I can get over quitting I can manage anything
Sorry to read about you having diabetes my love. I'm sure Diabetes can be successfully managed, and/or certain types even can be reversed by diet. I'm sure your Doctor will take good care of you.
And your notes at the Surgery will say you don't smoke!
Oh man I am still so tired too..10 weeks in...I may go for a checkup too....so sorry jane....me and you are quit buddies even though i don often come on here anymore....wishing you all the best xxxx
I was so tired for weeks. I had blood tests but they didn't find anything. If it's any consellation it does pass and I'm fitter than I've ever been. Climbing all these hills in Auckland probably accounts for that
Jane, at least they found it and if you hadn't quit then you could have gone on for long enough. The sooner they find things the easier they are to fix. Hope all goes well for you
